Had a browse of the southeast thread to see how it's going. Looks to me to be just where it's supposed to be, not that you'd know it given some of the crying by some. Main thing is it's not further northwest than predicted so shouldnt eat our instability. Side note: Paul Sherman, it appears, is the southeast's sausage (where is sausage anyway, there's a lack of snow to be outraged by?)

I miss sausage. Don’t think he has popped in this year. We have had some great laughs with that guy so I hope he’s ok

Very light Snow falling here in Rotherham, flakes are that tiny you can hardly see it's snowing, infact the Mrs reckons it isn't snowing.

Bit of an experiment. Here is a live stream out of my window with weather data and radar overlay.

Your camera's wonky and someone's nicked your snow. :)

That's a much more interesting radar than I expected, so much for anybody who thought this would be a dry easterly.

Intereatingly the radar has a somewhat 2018 look where it's a massive clump of what looks like quite poor looking light showers but in reality it actually was pretty heavy and more than did the job simply because it was frozen.

I retain my original stance moreso now, I expect to be measuring 10cm+ by Wednesday 12.00.

Hopefully Adam and Cheese can awake a little happier.

Of course I am assuming the showers actually make it inland.

Always use the NW original scale for the weather. Much easier read and the showers I find. The showers look a lot lighter than the 2018 at the moment. Downside it's easier too see a precipitation passing just to the north or of you or just to the south so can add to the frustration.

Is it me or do the showers coming in from the North Sea appear to be intensifying and dying out much less as they push inland now?  I don't know whether that is me being hopeful or not?!

The odd small flakes still blowing about in the wind here....

I should also say I still have the tiniest most forlorn looking patch of snow in the garden from the kids snowman earlier in the week so anything that falls is just topping me up really!  ?

Not going to get much if the showers don't pick up in intensity. The met office forecast map shows them dying off as the day goes on. I think tomorrow will be our day.

The thing is, it is all snow and no rain so that means everything is in place that needs to be

Unfortunately all the heavy snow from last night has melted.

Tiny bits of dandruff blowing around in the wind. Radar looks promising for later.

It does look very promising doesn't it? I was a little nervous checking the FAX this morning but was pleased to see it still there

Yes the radar reminded me very much of 2018. Hopefully that continues to be the case.

Morning! To be fair the light snow of tiny flakes which most areas have now (also here) it qualifies as a dry Easterly generally. If it stays like this all week it will go down as a dry Easterly eventually but I agree it's too early to tell.
