South lincs in that horrible dry zone between the showers in the north and the low to the south

Lightest of snow, no issues with it sticking. Hopefully the beginning of a some decent showers throughout the day.

A very light hail shower here in Cleethorpes, settling on the road easy enough by the looks of it and the wind is up. Doesn't look like much on the radar today unless it intensifies.

Wow. Unbelievable amount of snow. And this is just the start for them. You wonder at what point people need evacuating from this- I mean no food, house buried and presumably no way in or out. Unless they’ve stocked up and are just hunkering down for the next few weeks?!

something is falling in Hornsea!!

I am not actually sure what to call it. Its not snow but its frozen but tiny tiny flakes melting on impact.

I guess its a start !!

Most of last nights snow melted here. The wind is horrendous and now we have graupel showers.

This is now getting very interesting.

Look at the circled area! That's heavy showers

Light snow started here now, flake size 1/10 but shows the proper cold air has arrived. Radar is filling in right across Yorkshire, interesting to see how this goes now. Just need that pesky front down south to stay away from our convection! Incidentally, my preference would be widespread light to moderate snow as opposed to streamers which will miss me and bury Sheffield! (sorry Sheffield )

mostly light graupel here too ......but beginning to settle

still 1.4 C ( with a dew point of -2 c ) so we should be fine when the beefy showers arrive

I see the @Craigers radar prediction system has just been initiated, not failed us in the south of the region yet. I expect the showers you have identified to Become more organised throughout the day, like in 2010 and 18. ?❄️

Not going to get much if the showers don't pick up in intensity. The met office forecast map shows them dying off as the day goes on. I think tomorrow will be our day.

Had a browse of the southeast thread to see how it's going. Looks to me to be just where it's supposed to be, not that you'd know it given some of the crying by some. Main thing is it's not further northwest than predicted so shouldnt eat our instability. Side note: Paul Sherman, it appears, is the southeast's sausage (where is sausage anyway, there's a lack of snow to be outraged by?)

Light snizzle / snow shower at the moment. Showers beginning to come in further down the coast so should provide some light showers further south of us in an hour or so.
