Nothing here, and I told everyone yesterday that if we didn't wake up to a covering of snow this morning I would  eat my hat,

Just been for a first light wander up on the hills where I live in Calderdale (Ryburn Valley) and the snow line from last night is 250, though it will be valley bottom level around here now.

Snow wise, the moors are a solid white now, which must mean it's a good 8" plus up there.

We will have some good accumulations this week with elevation, and i would imagine good accumulations below 200m also in some parts.

The wind is the only concern, it'll make trans pennine travel difficult combined with snow.

Woke up this morning half expecting to see a little dusting but nothing.

Hoping to see a few flakes sometime soon, sounds like tomorrow we could be in with a chance of seeing something!

Definitely feeling bitter out there so feeling very hopeful about our chances, just need those showers to start piling in!

Yeah they look relentless

Uppers of -10 now upon us and dew points well below freezing. Snow all the way!

Patchy cover most of the snow melting overnight so turned back to rain for a wile the looks of things. Radar may give us a few flurries but other wise zippo at the moment

Poor start from the kitten from the east.

The showers are very heavy though it is gradually turning whiter

An Interesting tweet from BBC Wales weatherman Derek. Interesting graphic explaining the ‘Baltic streamer’ .... heading for Yorkshire!

First posted about this on Thursday .

GEM has been absolutely consistent with this throughout all its runs since.  Here is is again on its latest run.  Same time frame as well, starting 7am Monday and still impacting our region 48 hours later.

The only difference today is that is has the streamer heading south into Norfolk during Wednesday, instead of North later that day.

Matt Hugo on twitter makes an interesting point about the showers being heavier than the radar would suggest due to the snow:water ratios. Was similar in 2018.
