Back to rain here?

Must still be rate of precipitation swinging the snow in when its coming down hard enough?

But it's coming!

I'm not walking the dog 'till its here!!!! (he had a 'splash & dash earlier so we're good!)

My current thoughts regarding snow showers next few days from my weather page:

06/02/21 23z - 09/02/21 12z

It is now likely that large parts of eastern scotland and eastern england will see frequent snow showers in many places depositing some large amounts of snow.

Widespread accumulations of 5-15cm. With as much as 30cm where showers align into snow streamers. Perhaps more on high ground in eastern scotland, cumbria and north east england.

North York Moors/ Tan Hill possibly 40cm+

A red alert may be issued in due coarse.

Extra attention payed to 2 areas ~

*Firth of forth, showers should align along this local feature, Edinburgh and otehr areas exposed could be in for some extreme snowfall totals. Possibly 15-30cm. As ever though with showers some place could get buried whilst 5 miles down the road get much less snow.

*Convergence zone expected east yorkshire, into lincolnshire and south yorkshire monday. Trains of snow showers enhancing snow depths in these areas. This snow train could be a little further north or south come monday.

Heavy snow here again in South Sheffield and the 18hz GFS rolling out a repeat, enhanced performance next week. Happy times!

i think the strong winds are blowing the snow SW ahead of the radar. ive had heavy blobs over me and ive hardly seen anything falling. gusty winds so plausible....

Tonight is just the starter lads and lasses, Monday could be real good for our region, granted some will get more snow than others, that's the nature of these events, but in the grand scheme of things, all roads lead to snow!

Seems to be raining here now! Melting especially on tarmac surfaces but that was a nice taster for what is hopefully to come! Just need this cold air to arrive and we are good to go. I notice the north sea shower machine already cranking up around Newcastle

Well, thats the film watched...

Started snowing here in Scunny about 2030 as I opened the door for our tea (cheeky Indian)

Only a brief taster with hopefully more to come over the next few days.

Just light rain at the moment, not expecting anything any surprises...

Great to see some early action across the region

Yeah that's what happened here. I think it's warmer air and colder air mixing out.

Yes you just scraped inside the zone

I thought as much, sure the boundary will fluctuate outside around that area of red anyway

Very sloppy from the met office, they usually miss things like this .

I seen surface water flooding all over the place today!
