Certainly feeling cooler in Scunny now...

Nothing remotely white or ice like falling from the sky just yet. Saying that, it's not even raining at the mo...

But you can certainly feel the cold coming in..

Temps down here now but heavy rain. Liking that more showers are forming out in the North Sea

That heavier stuff looks to be trending slightly more south. Sheffield/Chesterfield.

Can anyone explain why it's turned back to rain? Thought we'd transitioned into the cold air but obviously still right on the edge.

The flooding in West Yorkshire is quite widespread. Been following it on Leeds Live, really suprised there's been no warning of the amount of rain.

I do like the way the twig on tuesday's fax chart takes a nosedive to South Yorkshire as soon as it hits shore...

Looks like you've got into lighter stuff.I suspect a bit of evapouritive cooling was taking place soon as it turned lighter the temps rose slightly and a back to rain. The really cold uppers are due yet.

We definitely won’t be getting this much precipitation next week that’s for sure...

The colder air is filtering N to S (well, NE to SW) so the snow line will gradually reduce in that kind of pattern I assume. Low lying inland areas will be a bit quicker than coastal areas of course.

While your air is transitioning from milder to colder you'll have to rely on the heavier bursts for some evaporative cooling to bring the snow line down - but by tomorrow we'll all be in snow-conducive air.

Yeah we're back to sleet at 130m ASL here in NE Sheffield. Some heavier stuff due now so we'll see if some evaporative cooling can help it transition back.

Going to be a very frustrating week for us in West Yorkshire I think. Might need to stay away from this forum for a while!
