The gap between the main band and band over Wales is one to watch.

If this fills as it rotates north would explain the 10am finishing and probably guarentee 10cm somewhere!

Gotta say I'm not at all convinced by the Amber warning, the band has already reached Dundee! It's snowing moderately, but no sign on radar of anything more than that imminent?

Good covering here in Rotherham, looking at radar I'm surprised how far front as advanced North East since I came to bed at half 11.

1.5cm on the wheely bins but am inch on the grass having checked both. Still coming down heavy but smallish flakes at the no.

I feel the band may have gone through a lot quicker tham forecast but there are showers merging in behind closing the gap to the area of precipitation coming out of wales

Hmmm ice pellets currently. This could well have alll gone through a lot quicker than models expected. Ill see when the next heavier burst hits

Usually first signs of it turning to rain though as I speak a few bigger flakes start to fall.

Well the M1 East and North of Leeds was white over and I was the only car going south for miles which was a bit alarming. M62 not so bad, salt had melted it apart from Lane 3. At work in Cleckheaton now and similar to Garforth, there's about an inch with moderate snow falling. Looks to be some heavier stuff en route but no chance this will carry on until 11am going by the radar... Was supposed to arrive in Leeds about 3am but it was already in Edinburgh by then!

Looking at latest radar I can't see this Snow lasting all morning as some predicted, couple of more hours at most is my guess unless front comes to a grinding halt which is unlikely.

The back edge of the band is very intense, it’s this that probably prompted the amber warning, should hit South Yorkshire soon,
