Good morning all. Spent some time last night checking almost everything, latest runs, charts etc. It's really a nightmare forecasting tomorrow. As it stands all areas will start with rain. North Yorkshire (Leeds and places North of Leeds) roughly above 150-160asl should see rain turning to snow around 7am/8am and possibly the snow line will gradually go down to 100asl. System will move on a turtle pace so areas with snowfall will possibly see significant accumulations especially over 250asl.

If we don't have any downgrades today with milder air pushing in with the front I would expect an amber warning issued by METO this afternoon.

With all due respect, I think you're way off.

Northern parts on high ground will be temporary re snow. Everything is too far north imo.

Yes, I didn't check the downgrades of this morning before I posted. METO is still forecasting some snow at lower levels but I can't see it verifying.

These downgrades have been frustrating. We Could have seen snow yesterday, tomorrow and Sunday but all seem to have gone now.

Really hope February delivers something good. Seems promising so far ☺️

Disappointing these downgrades, but hoping the nowcasting churns out something different!

Yep, overnight data has destroyed any chance of a good snow event thursday. Can see many opportunities popping up over the next 10 days or so though!

I know that we're gonna have heavy rain tomorrow but I wish METO forecast was more detailed. "Rain and snow affecting all areas and snow confined to highest ground later"... So they're still expecting some snow at lower ground?

I still think there's a good chance over weekend.

Weekend looks good.

Also interesting that the temperatures are falling quite nicely at the moment which I wasn't expecting.

Looks good for south yorkshire but can't see it reaching as far north as leeds. Could even end up 200 miles south, so lots of water under the bridge before we even have a good idea.

Classic event for South Yorkshire if it happens . Stalls right in the middle of Yorkshire than goes south again

ECM has Northern extent of the snow on Saturday just coming into South West Yorkshire before it returns South again. Could do with it another 50 miles North, then stalling!

But Tuesday could get very interesting!

What's the chances it all goes to nothing again though?

As we know, those pink charts were showing for tomorrow earlier over last weekend but it's come to nothing.

Charts look great heading into February, let's hope they don't downgrade! ❄️

Think it be upgrades from now on. West to east progression now being slowed down allowing for this evolution to happen as we want it.

Yes it's encouraging to see the runs tonight agreeing for the most part, as much as they can do looking up to day 10!!

Easterly would be great for us so let's watch it tick down haha. hope to see some snow at the weekend ❄️

Why does Steve Murr not post on here no more if you don't mind me asking. Enjoy his posts very much.
