That band of snow is slowly marching northwards, wasnt expecting anything today so if it survives here I'll be pleased!

So close yet so far away. We seem to be right on the edge here in Chesterfield whichever direction snow comes from.

That's just a perk of having a very central location buddy! we've done alright a couple of times already this year, but the last couple of days we have been right on the edge.

Plenty more chances of seeing some snow this winter, we do a lot better than those poor folk down south that's for sure!

Overnight ICON was pretty close to the right solution for the Northern extent of todays snow.

So is the southeast thread on here, I wonder if its because they never get snow, so don't know what 4 inches of it is supposed to look like! Having said that, looks like some spots in the Midlands did very well with similar amounts to what we had in the 2 events up here earlier in the month.

Haha yes could be!

Yeah, looks like Nottingham and places like that have had a great afternoon looking at the radar playback.

I'm pleased some further south have seen snow this time really, we all know how painful the wait is!

We've done pretty well so far this winter and I think more to come ❄️

There quite few in this region that still havent really seen lying snow this winter i cant remember what 4 inches look like Even Blackpool have had more snow then us this winter and now Central London. All need now is Penzance and Isle of Scilly to get snow just to top it off lol

Yeah it's been better in West and North Yorkshire this year so far for sure. I actually missed out on the Harrogate event by 5 miles but was in a sweet spot the following week and have seen falling snow a good few times. Fingers crossed for a proper beast so we can all get in on the act together!

A few light flakes of snow in Dodworth. Does that count as a snow day? ❄️

Next event potentially Tuesday with snow risk, but according to Arpege Thursday could be more interesting,

I notice the Met Office brought out an Amber warning in the Midlands at 16:45! What's the point, all the areas in the warning had already had 6 inches of snow by the time it came out. Why are the Met Office so useless at snow warnings?

Roughly same timeframe as your 2nd image but with predicted snow depths!  We can but dream!
