Yorkshire and E England regional discussion

Yes I think the very gradual 'fizzling out' has started, but for many that are currently under the precip it's light to moderate for the coming hour or two at least I would've thought.

Can't see what factors there would be for any meaningful re-intensification, but we've done pretty darn well overall.

Measured 5cm, possibly an extra cm or two on the wall opposite.

Radar is showing it breaking up but still heavy here, albeit a little finer.

WRF-NMM looks less certain and very marginal. Another nowcast!

60m, LS12, about 2 miles from the city center.

My parents still live on high ground which is why you might sometimes get odd reports from me if I'm there or have despatched them with a ruler.

Make the most of it as it will get washed away on Saturday ......

Interesting modal verb choice! You seem very certain despite the very uncertain situation.

Hard to say exact depth but could easily be 6 inches.

We are losing the heavy radar returns.

Just been out reckon we have about 8 or 9 centimetres here and still coming down.  Lovely stuff!

Roads around here are treacherous though with quite a few abandoned cars and cars in trouble on the slightest of inclines......

Im going to have a look im detail after the oz tomorrow and ill get a forecast over to you mate. Its still too early to tell but the rough consensus this second is for yorkshire to be right in the firing line.

Yet again a conservative warning from the met not taking evap cooling and relative humidity etc into play so i want to see what the median point of heavy rain and snow will be first

Seems to be getting heavier here despite the weakening radar echoes?

I take it that given the band over us stretches right up into Northern Scotland it is just going to break up rather than slide South?

If the latter it will take hours to fully clear away?!
