Still raining and the temperature is now going the wrong way.

Temperature, after being steady all night, is now rising (up to 1.6°C) with a DP of 1.3°C. Will this drop or are we doomed here on the flatlands, again?

Snowing fairly moderately sheffield north and settling of surfaces well ahead on schedule, It’s actually quite unbelievable how dry the snow is. Can’t wait to take pictures. The KASI snow model strikes again!

Hi to everyone! A new NW member this morning so this my first post.

Happy to be here on this exciting winter weather day.

As of 0800, I have ice grains falling here. Living on the hills near Penistone, so I am hopeful of seeing the snow flakes soon.  Pleased to see fellow Barnsley locals having snow already.

Best wishes to the Yorkshire and East England community.

Bill

Very very heavy snow here, started at 6,30am and have a few cms already!

if this continues till lunch we could be looking at 10cm+ I reckon

This looks very heavy I'd be cautious below 125-150m of the heavy ppn forcing snow to low levels with a >0 wet bulb & then this retreating producing high water content snow which struggles to accumulate very well..Could happen in a *few* limited spots esp further east.

5-10cm imo, needs to be 30cm to stop me from getting around. It's generally others who block the roads.

Not looking good here, although there are some 'pink' returns over The Wolds to the west. Temp now up to 2.0°C with a DP of 1.8°C. More hope than expectation overnight but, as they say, it's the hope that kills!

Looks like it’s starting to transition to light snow - settling a bit.

I always stay away from the MOD thread and stop analysing model runs whenever a snow event is happening in front of my eyes.
