Yorkshire and E England regional discussion

The heavy precip will help completely abolish the weak inversion for the Leeds & Bradford area.. these rates of convection wont be maintained so later on > moderate precip with more widespread gradual snow line breach for more southern low lying Yorkshire later in the morning.

Steady light to moderate rain here. Temps edged up a little from six o'clock. Now a waiting game.

Moderate snow falling at work, around a mile west of Malton. 2-3cm of the wet slushy stuff.

Wow; a 1:5 precipitive ratio! On the high moors there will be 15cm+.

1. Ratio of 1:12 (6cm)

2. Orographic enhancement (9cm)

3. Snow commence point 2-3 hours earlier (2cm x 3 + 9)

Yes, again proves during mid winter events with enough ppn the surface temp & so surface snow will always follow the air temperature parameters. Different for higher solar influence events.

Very fine margins. Firby is 5 miles south of my work and ever so slightly higher yet my covering has gone and looking at my CCTV it’s raining.
