Barely a drop so far.

People should not get too excited for the moment as it's pure warm front, the main risk comes when the wave (triple point) moves south through the front as it occludes and the secondary low develops.

@summer blizzard What is the approx timescale for this?

Heavy rain in Barnsley currently and Radar showing heavier still to come.  If we are still under heavy ppn when the colder air moves in then some areas have a chance of getting a decent covering.

Looking at the bright echoes on the radar this is certainly an active front.

Bodes well for evaporative cooling to come into play tonight and tomorrow but flooding but might be more of an issue before that?!

Yes I mentioned that yesterday re flooding

Sounds like something icy is falling from the sky here. The odd flake mixed in too.

I'm sure this rain is turning more sleety in Barnsley. Not sure if it's just my wishful eyes deceiving me though

2.8C in sunny old Sheffield a heat wave. Out of the main rain area now. Local forecast has swapped back to yesterdays forecast.LOL. Waiting for the cold front to come along and occlude and then secondary depression to form.

I know it’s an app forecast so obviously subject to differ but its really starting  to look very interesting for my location tonight and definitely tomorrow literally just changed..

Front currently well East compared to projected. Hasn't held West like the models thought, dunno if that changes things for tomorrow but it's almost cleared Sheffield

This first front was meant to clear us and head to the east coast!!!its what comes back over from scotland later!!!its quiet a wavey front so do not be fooled by the eastward movement right now!!!a wavey ribbon effect!!

When is the triple point and developing low set to hit us. And is that drawing colder air in from the east?. Thanks.

It heads back west after midnight mate. We need a long period of moderate to heavy rain for it to turn to snow so keep an eye on the radar for heavy echos appraching these will bring the freezing level down. The quicker this happens the longer well be in the snow line
