Nothing here yet. It's just very wet outside. Can see where the ice warning is coming from. Could be tricky first thing!

Not sure I'll be waking up to a white world tomorrow though like I did last Tuesday....

Just for fun......Predictive radar on Accuweather showing streamer hitting Grimsby at about 10.30 ( will then move North throughout the night turning more Wintry)

Ironically the dewpoint has actually dropped to -1.4C here but there's now no precipitation.

Anyone else feeling a little drained by this apparent cold spell?  Not talking physiological effects of the cold itself but from the long drawn out waiting for something to happen.

Absolutely. It happens  most years and generally runs to the end of March

Im not a sports fan as you'll tell from the following analogy but I imagine it's as addictive as following a team, hoping every year they will win whatever cup, reminiscing about a time years ago when they did, only to be disappointed yet again. Still will alway come back the next year to do it again.

Well in a sense i'm hoping I've increased by chances of winning, just moved back from southwest London to Hull after 6 years. Some great memories of the snow last time I was here. That said we did have one spell of powder snow a few back and it was bone dry up here. Hopefully Hull can still do well out a decent northerly.

Had a snow shower somewhere around 19:30 when I was playing football at Wickersley School.  The positive news for the rest of the evening was that the shower, though brief, was snow rather than rain or sleet.

Sleet shower just turned to snow in Barnsley.  Plenty of showers about in that band but it does appear to be narrowing and edging North slightly.

Sleet at best so far on the edge of Sheffield (200m). Hopefully there'll be something over night but less hopeful now. Might be looking at Friday for the next chance

Oh that's promising then!

I'll keep an eye out, but right now the radar is looking thin.

I did think now that the cold 850s are here that's a big difference to the sea temp so thought that should trigger more than we are seeing

I noticed that.

Looks like the band of showers is now focused on a trajectory NE to SW centred along a line from Scarborough through to York Leeds and Manchester.

If this is where any streamer is likely to set up then it will be a bust for South Yorkshire.  Not bad for West Yorkshire etc though.

We will have to see if thats how it pans out.  I am not holding my breath though.
