Further ahead they don't have a scooby but it will snow

Areas of rain, sleet and snow make erratic southeast progress into Thursday, with wintry showers mostly affecting coastal districts in central and southern areas. Elsewhere is likely to be fine and dry with some sunny spells, though freezing fog patches may also be likely for some. For the rest of the week, conditions are likely to turn more widely unsettled with a mixture of rain, sleet and snow for many areas. Overnight frosts and icy stretches are also expected with temperatures below average. A chance that by the middle of January conditions may become a little less cold and unsettled for a time at least across the south, although wintry hazards are still possible in many areas.

Rather cold and cloudy with wintry showers.

This Evening and Tonight:

Cold and cloudy, with some showery rain, sleet and snow, tending towards rain at low levels with time. This will be heaviest and most frequent in coastal districts given the raw onshore breeze. Frost developing in limited clear spells inland. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Sunday:

Remaining cold and mainly cloudy throughout, with some further showers moving onshore. These will be wintry on hills and again heavy at times, with a small chance of thunder. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cold, cloudy and breezy, with a raw-feeling breeze bringing spells of showery rain, sleet and snow. Probably brightest on Wednesday. Overnight icy patches and frosts are possible throughout.

"Showers turning to rain with time" . Thought it was turning colder this weekend onwards. Have I missed something?

We'll likely have to wait for after dark for even more snow conductive air. Showers will continue to move into the North East tonight #uksnow

Temps and dew points less supportive further South but that will likely change as evening falls. With that said the further south you go the more likely it'll just be sleet/rain.

If it's not going to snow again today I'd rather see a clear sky overnight giving us a frost so we can get out for a walk in it in morning.

Love a walk through Clifton Park when it's covered in Snow.

to a very old man Scott, snow is always 'magical' Missing my annual shot of 'real' snow in the Jungfrau region so this will have to do. You never know I may get some more before spring takes over! I suppose the 35 cm that fell 30 Nov-1 Dec 2010 is unlikely to ever be beaten here. It was the heaviest snowfall for this area, probably in at least 75 years.

Was magical in 2010 and even parts of Rotherham had 2ft snow. Wasnt there alot in 1991 February beast? There's photos of me in a snow plough on my parents street in sprotbrough from the 1991 beast

High ground certainly makes a difference.

Loving our new home estate!

Temp hovering at 1.3c. The trees were making the station warmer than it should be so its been calibrated to a traditional gauge.
