Now on our 4th day of lying snow.... feels like winter. When we were choosing where to bring up the kids my only criteria was that it must be over 200m elevation... now we're at 240 and I wish rightmove could rank homes by altitude!

(Hills above Hebden Bridge)

I did the Trog fell race recce (20miler) above Old Town, up and over towards Stanbury/Top Withens....That part of the world (about 8miles from me in Hubberton) got the shower streamer we didn't get a few days ago. Plenty of snow up there on the tops...above 200m though...350+ for good snow near Hebden now.

GFS highlighting the risk for us further east James. The earlier the better ideally for us lower down but Wolds would be a good bet for some white stuff.

Unlike the GFS the NMM is showing a more prolonged spell of wintry precipitation moving SW across Yorkshire in the evening.

This.

Interesting.

Both the short term and medium term are suddenly looking more promising for snow chances!

I don't think it is too outlandish to state there is a good chance of a memorable month coming up if you are of a cold / snowy persuasion!

The ECM at 240 would certainly give us a memorable weather event on its own!  ??

Having spoken with Kasim and examined the Hermonie im going to put my neck out here and forecast 1-3cms to low levels tomorrow afternoon. A little bit more than what we got the other night.

Surprised there isnt a warning yet. Dont be surprised if we get one tomorrow morning

Yeah I agree. Could we see a repeat tomorrow evening of what we got Monday night. Many similarities with the feature coming in....

I've lost 95% of the snow cover here today. Could we be covered again by this time tomoz....

Potentially but it could be further south into the north midlands. Certainly worth watching mid day onwards tomorrow

Whats the reason for the potential difference Scott?  Uppers again or dew points?  Or something else?

Looks like the uppers are conducive to be fair.....

Local forecasts one has changed from sleet and snow to dry. That the met office and the Beeb just shows one of sleet. Radar watching and we shall see.

Ah cheers.

Am I right in thinking from Monday onwards the snow risk rises again for our part of the world or is rain a possibility for the duration of the projected Easterly?

looks like things have changed - we were forecast light snow from 12 onwards.

nothing at all forecast now. think it's going to be a radar watch day.

Currently snowing in Newcastle , Consett ( and even Redcar on the coast now ) at 07.30

Seems to be moving in a South South Westerly direction at the moment.

Beeb weather earlier made specific mention to Yorkshire as the main area this week for bands of showers of sleet/snow accumulations etc and towards end of the week potentail of it becoming more unsettled but still very cold

So `could` be a very good week at least for our part of the world, parameters allowing etc etc
