Its quite rare to get such low temperatures combined with the strong winds here. We are at -1.9C with a 35-40mph gusty wind making it feel more like -10c.

I'd bank that, at least looking at that we would all see a period of snow!. How does the current radar compare to the charts...what's the best match so far?.

Fyi need to update my location I'm Neath/ Coventry (work)

current radar looks ahead of the charts - might mean the front will get further east before fizzling out

I thought it looked a bit earlier than expected. Just trying to figure out the track, maybe more marginal then?. Any radar links to see more of the precipitation out west of Ireland?

ECM probably closest to current radar. Not surprising after the last event and it also is the model with it further east and arriving early morning (5/6am into south west)

Looks as if it is beefing up nicely at the core,  if it survives and the rest develops in to heavier ppn is another thing......

Yep agree: Looking good at the moment but we know how quickly a front can fizzle out once it hits the cold. Fingers crossed! It’s faster then forecast at the moment.

ECM 18z is even faster bringing the front in. 4am to Pembrokeshire now. Arriving at Cardiff at 8am, previously 11am on 12z run...

Models do have it intensifying when it gets over land so hopefully this happens when it gets here

Can't be far off, it's still -3 here.

Didn't expect this but there appears to be an upgrade!

It sure does look good, but the cold over Wales from around Swansea east can quickly deteriorate this front. Will be very curious to see how this pans out.

Do you think it'll fizzle out?

It looks way too intense to fizzle

Its also tilting NW-SE

At this rate NI will struggle to get the snow and we will end up getting more
