Yeah a little bit underwhelming. But they did the same thing a couple of weeks ago only to change their mind and put a warning out on the day itself, so let's up for a repeat performance!

Yep hopefully we still see some falling snow at least, im personally expecting more marginal conditions than shown by the likes of the ICON  especially in the south west. It may not be the main event most wanted to end this cold spell but it appears to be all we are getting.

Latest meto video forecast is dire, no precipitation makes it into wales apart from maybe a tiny bit Saturday night in the northwest

Unfortunately that's in line with the latest UKV which keeps South Wales dry again tomorrow

Those automated forecasts should change soon to reflect this.

Latest AROME does bring in some snow but again mainly light and patchy:

Tough one to call really with some of this mornings early output, hopefully we will have some more clarity either way this evening one way or the other, but as we all know that doesn't always happen.

Madness on the met office app. They dont know what's going to happen I dont think. Showing snow for llanelli and then sleet in ammanford which is only a few miles north . Surely further north and higher ground = more snow?‍♂️

Im not sure if the BBC weather uses the ECM data or not? I dont think they use the Met Office model (UKV) on tv anymore?

On 6 February 2018, the BBC began using the MeteoGroup graphics, which include: a seasonal "window on the weather" at the start of each bulletin. green land. high quality moving graphics reproduce detailed weather conditions represented by high-resolution data.

Not sure on the data they use tho

Id always go through the UKMet

BBC are not my go to

Looking at the latest MetO forecast, no real snow at all for wales now so think we need to look to the next potential snow event in a few weeks time lol

Yes BBC use Meteogroup which use ECM. Although they kept the met office weather warnings which can give some interesting situations sometimes where ECM and UKMO diverge . Sometimes you will see a heavy rain/snow warning on the map without any precipitation if the models are different

Latest ICON:

iconsat1.thumb.jpg.f6822c85702657950c0503a561572568.jpg

Met Office app showing rain for south west (Tenby) snow further east, maybe an indication of what is being shown on the latest UKV.

Looks decent but it's always a worry when the Met Office don't agree.

Northern Ireland looks set for significant snow, I think it will be a dusting at best for Wales. Maybe 2-5cm higher ground mid/North wales
