Some flakes of snow blowing about in the wind here in Barry!

Yep - light flakes were blowing about here too, just along from you, near the airport. Been falling for about 30 mins. Just increased to a heavy intensity as I’ve been typing. I think it’s looking good for many of us for a while today.

Look at this radar image - suggests its snowing nearly everywhere in Wales now......

All the areas in Wales to the east of the current line of pink in this chart should at least see snow flakes today.

A quick look at cameras in NW Wales suggests that much of what the radar is showing isn't real/isn't reaching the ground. Unless someone in Anglesey/Gwynedd can confirm otherwise!

A good one for Wales!!   Lucky for Bala! (elevation 1358ft asl).   Let’s hope we see this repeated at least once more before the end of February.

How  is there precipitation falling in the south and nothing in the north then?

Combination of possible reasons. Low dew points means that a lot of the precip is not surviving to the ground, it's evaporating. I suspect there are some spurious readings with the radar too.

Just goes to show that you can’t put any faith in these radar images....

Getting heavier but tiny flakes in Cardiff. Melting instantly on impact with ground.

Agreed. These radars are useless as well as weather predictions in general, its starting to stick in Narberth btw (Excluding main roads). I bet you have had a couple of cm up with you
