He's out in his snow plough. Anyway, you've gotta love this weather. I'm pretty sure most paces in South Wales will see snow, not just mid Wales. Looking like an exciting week.

Certainly is looking forward to Sunday evening to see some snow flakes ,hopefully after 6pm

Well I think us living in the Swansea area are going to see 0 snow tomorrow.  Just to mild at the moment. As for Sunday 50/50 I think. Just don't think the cold is there for dew point and temps to drop. Just my personal thoughts hope to be wrong.

I'm a bit less confident tonight about snow in South Wales than I was earlier, but still as confident of significant snow in upland parts further north. I think the Valleys are likely to see falling snow but it could be a challenge to see it settling away from the tops unless precipitation is sustained and heavy. As for Sunday, that's anyone's guess.

I think we will be pleasantly surprised come 11 am tomorrow...will have an afternoon of rain turning to snow. Elevation and inland areas ( not too far inland) will help with any settling. Then got Sunday and next week to look forward too

Sunday could give a covering, Derek seems to think it could go either way. I expect warnings tomorrow.

Late Saturday afternoon still looks supportive of snow for low lying southern areas but by that  point we’ll have had hours of rain and with surface temperatures still a few degrees above no accumulation likely

Stay out of the mad thread as it looks like winters over and it's not even February as of yet... Fickle people in there all they want is wiil it snow IMBY and if it don't they throw there toys out of the pram.

Anyhiw as for Wales we got the weekend with more possible snow warnings changing by this time tomorrow then bigger changes into next week.

We are prime for snow falling with some good accumulations in some sweet spots. I'm happy just to sit back and wait. We are on the cusp of something good.

It’s certainly further north than most of the models are showing it to be at this time.

Same as that @A Frayed Knot, going to wait and see what happens this weekend and next week. Chances of snow for most sometime between tomorrow and Tuesday and that’s before what happens end of next week ❄️

The mad thread was all ' ooh look at this model, into the freezer ' and ' ooh feb looks good '   blah blah blah. Yeah, fickle is an understatement. They have done ' the winters over about ten times the last month. Ignore it.

MetOffice long rate update is the best it has been for ages that’s for sure, definitely the most encouraging part of today.

Good evening ladies and gents!!

Looks like the warning was moved south as I alluded to yesterday which is good to see

BUT

I think away from elevation there will be nothing tomorrow

Maybe falling wet snow but certainly not settling. I guess it depends on whether we get a decent undercut of cold air before the front slides away south

Sunday looks a better bet BUT this time precip looks to be light

Just a shame saturdays front couldn’t wait until Sunday lol

Either way this weekend will of course spring some surprises and then the following weekend the fun really starts

I’m binning the ECM this eve. It’s flip flopped around like a fish out of water after 120-140 recently

UKM has been fairly resolute and you certainly would bet against it in the 120  range tomorrow which is when the fun really starts

Enjoy the snow

My sweet spot I’m going for is Brecon and surrounding and of course the route across the Beacons, past Pen-y-fan from the A470 in Merthyr will be treacherous I’m sure

Agree. I know folk have to start somewhere, and the thread has always been a mad one, but this year it seems worse than ever. A lot of point scoring going on. Use to enjoy following it, but been difficult this winter.

I gave up in there a few weeks ago. Shame that some of the old wiser heads don't post anymore and those with sometimes sensible outlooks get shot down in flames...much prefer in here, knowledgeable but very friendly and welcoming

This is the latest UKV for the weekend, Sunday is just a cold cloudy day with the front failing to make any progress in land
