I used to feel the same when living in Cardiff and knowing Caerphilly has had snow.

Yeah it’s always very close here 10/15 min drive north your snowed in, the opposite way it’s rain.

Apparently it's further north than modelled? Can anyone confirm?

If it’s arriving earlier it will push through north quicker...a little delay will help it pivot around South Wales as it shows its coming up against a stronger barrier than modelled

Id say when you compare that to some of the charts like the AROME @ 9pm it seems further north and moving faster than expected:

Interestingly ICON is showing some ‘follow on’ precipitation coming up the Bristol Channel so hopefully not just a two hour event as the main band seems to be rushing through very quickly

Good news Jamie reaches West Wales midnight and then slows as it starts to pivots allowing pp to pep up ,so heaviest snow around 4 am to 6 am.

the pivot on the front is to do with it spiralling around the low as it moves through - a complicated set up to model and get right

Latest ICON still looks good for most a little marginal for immediate coasts as has been mentioned:

Yep looking good for the valleys .

It has been aligned more North-South until recently, but now seems to be tilting more NW-SE thankfully. We really need it to tilt or it will rush through too quickly.
