supposedly it's snowing less than 10miles to your west.

Will have a look out of the window and report back

It's just wet here, very wet. Even the ducks are wearing life jackets !

Enjoy it in the North...I can confirm that it is raining terribly here . Hopefully we may see some of the snow down here later on

North? It has been snowing here and heavy wet snow now as well, not settling though but the temperature difference between 6pm and now is huge, dropped from 8.5 to 1.2!

Could be a few surprises in the morning now.

Can't believe how fast it's stuck onto the roads, considering all the rain.

That quote with respect amazes me everytime I read it, "I'm surprised it's settling after all that rain". If the snow is not wet snow and the temp at the surface has dropped cold enough it will settle on anything!

Just the last half of that post would have done to be honest

ones comprehension of  scientific fact.. isn't a substitute for ones experiences in the field of everything

I have spent many weeks waiting for the snow , then because of experience.. I know how rare it is for snow to even settle here.. by the time the surface is cool enough.. the snow is in England  .. hopefully not this time

How far south is the snow going to reach in Wales chaps?

It's got as far as the beacons - hasn't got to the heads of the valleys as yet - it might fizzle out before it manages to do anything in the south but we shall see

What's your thoughts on Sunday? GFS has been showing snow consistently.

not a drop of snow in Llandrindod Wells about 30 miles north of the beacons yet.

as long as we get the precip over us the cold is locked in too - so it's looking pretty good

With lows of 2c forecast at the coldest time of the morning, if anything falls out of the sky it will more than likely b rain

Majority of the charts are going for snow on Sunday morning.

That's not strictly true, uppers and dewpoints look good, there are so many factors in determining snow. I think we serve a very good chance over the weekend. It has snowed heavily here with temperatures above 3 degrees in the past and has poured down with rain with temperatures of -2. That's the beauty of the weather and the atmosphere.

The majority of charts have also said we were going to be in a winter wonderland for the last 3 weeks

Banking this now so each and every one of us can all go make a nice Sunday snowman. 4 hours-ish of snow for all of Wales according to the ICON...

Got a couple inches on the ground now but stopped snowing. Looks like the precipitation has passed my area and is moving away E/NE on the radar. Nothing else behind it. Anyone know how Wales is looking precip wise next few days? Apart from the possible  Sunday event

That's true. That's why I don't get my hopes up anymore as it's always a let down.

Agreed. Whilst the charts are showing snow I'm not yet convinced it will be at lower levels
