We only seem to benefit from channel lows hitting the cold air. Anything else goes wrong lol.

these easterlies next week might drag some snow across with them - for us in east wales that should bode well as there will be no mountains to get over but and it's a big but they have to stay in tact from the north sea

the direction of the snow should be headed SSW , so the beacons shouldn't be an obstacle ?

these are still coming in from the north east - so the mountains will have an effect on them unfortunately

Haha, I could probably count 4 or 5 small flakes frozen on the bin outside. I prefer living in Caerphilly though compared to Cardiff as I'll have better luck with snow no doubt.

Is the snow on course to hit us?

Hahaha. Yeah I bet just being the other side of Caerphilly mountain helps shield you from the south / south west. Hoping to move up north of Pontypool over the coming months so fingers crossed that'll go in my favour next year!

yep we do seem to be in the "everyone else has had it but we haven't had a flake" group - just a little light sleet - never mind a little more patience may prove worthwhile in the end

Definitely Andy. It's always the way for us though, and then we'll end up hitting the jackpot with a channel low / battleground set up. So fingers crossed that will be the case, maybe tail end of next week?

This shower reaching the northern tip of the Beacons anyway now. Let's see if it holds onto its load

Showers seem to be holding their intensity well at the moment!

Nice area of precip currently moving south west, over Merthyr and the east beacons at the moment - looks like it’s heading towards the Bridgend area.

This band probably missing me in Cardiff but hopeful of some of the ones behind hitting here.

0.0c here now. Best chance of low level snow so far this spell here.

Best chance looks like that area of snow around the Leicester area if it keeps heading towards us.

Yes agree, or the small bit just south of Hereford which may/hopefully pep up as it moves closer.

Looks like it'll all miss us tonight.

Yup, looked like it was heading almost directly south and then filling out west as soon as it got to the Beacons? Ah well - probably would have been rain anyway,

Edit - slightly sleety

i work in pontnewynydd and live in cwmbran we have a little more snow where i work usually but nothing much to write home about you need to go further up the valley to blaenavon to see decent snow
