Complete whiteout here in Abertillery, finally nice to see a covering of snow which is sticking.

think that's what I can see from here,. it goes as far west as Pentwynmawr / Treowen (so it seems at the moment )

Can see Twmbarlwm from mine, but the ridge has disappeared, so imagine Cwmbran east is getting some

Hefty showers now, roofs covered.. took the dog round the village and the lanes are treacherous.. feeling bitingly cold.

Will the band of precipitation moving down across Wales reach South Wales tonight?

latest harmonie shows that it will - depends how strong the showers will be though when they get here

Flurries here in Cardiff, keeping an eye on what’s over the midlands. Hoping the welsh mountains doesn’t suck out all the moisture by the time it gets here

It looks like it's weakening as it heads South... however, the last band of snow showers that came South intensified for a time as it headed South of Hereford. i'm not sure if nocturnal cooling applies .. but it seemed it's effects were the same

It definitely seems pretty dynamic. Only five minutes or so of sleet here but as you say it pepped up somewhat. Just taking a look at theae screenshots from the radar, it looks as if it's bulking up a bit again, with the secondary shower almost merging with the first? Obviously got to get over the Beacons first mind.

Haha, I could probably count 4 or 5 small flakes frozen on the bin outside. I prefer living in Caerphilly though compared to Cardiff as I'll have better luck with snow no doubt.

Is the snow on course to hit us?

yep we do seem to be in the "everyone else has had it but we haven't had a flake" group - just a little light sleet - never mind a little more patience may prove worthwhile in the end

We only seem to benefit from channel lows hitting the cold air. Anything else goes wrong lol.

the direction of the snow should be headed SSW , so the beacons shouldn't be an obstacle ?
