Will never forget 01/03/18 Storm Emma/Beast from the East. I was working for a home emergency company at the time taking phone calls from people having issues with boilers etc. Everyone's boilers started failing that day and every man and their dog starting phoning up.  As I lived within a half hour walk of the office I offered to do a few hours overtime, and they offered in return to pay for a taxi for me to get home. The taxi got stuck in the snow and I spent ages helping to free it. The pavements were far too dangerously icy and I had to walk back home in the middle of the roads across Cardiff for about two hours in blizzard like conditions. Was quite surreal, it was the dry powdery type of snow but the drifts were incredible.

Condensate pipes freezing up ?  Happened to mine.Had to disconnect it in the house and run it into a bucket because every time I cleared it it just froze up within an hour..

Cold weather looks set in stone for at least 10 days.last day of northerly wind .Sleet snow showers now peppering North Wales coast they move south across Wales today.A warm front moves down from the n east ..There's our new pattern n east -easterly set up frost becoming persistent, Hopefully with snow cover (Especially eastvwales)we could see -7c overnight Wales.

Looks like there’s more precipitation about today and more intensity so it won’t just fizzle out over the mountains. Suspect a few areas will get a surprise covering but perhaps rain or sleet still around the coasts and low lying areas

Really coming down with thick flakes, I've been very lucky past week or so.

A nice cold crisp and frosty start to the day here. Perfect winter morning. Nice and crunchy under foot.

Good luck to you all chasing the snow showers today, hopefully some surprises in the next few days for everyone.

Had another dusting here this morning with some moderate snow. Temp increased around 10:45ish currently back tonsleet now unfortunately. But a nice surprise nonetheless. More organised heavy precipitation overnight would almost certainly give us a few centimeters now. There’s enough surface cold about now to tip things the right side of marginal for us.

Garden pond and ditches here have remained frozen solid since last Sunday
