To see if they get snow and this front got know warm sector as it comes into Wales tonight.

I won't be staying up that's for sure.

Come on, I think we both know you will.

Just reminiscing over past snow events, and does anybody remember the late season snowfall of March 11th, 2004? It was the day of the Madrid train bombings, if that jogs anyone's memories. It's one that never gets mentioned these days. I was 13 at the time but I'd just started taking basic weather records, and I recorded 17 cm of level snow.

Depends how late it's arriving haha, didn't get enough sleep last night but luckily I'm off work all week.

I don't remember that snow event to be honest, I was 11 at the time.

I can't find anything to support Wednesday's warning.

I don't think they're exaggerating so much as covering themselves. Most of the output we've seen suggests fairly light precipitation not getting that far north at all, so for them to issue a warning covering an area stretching from Cornwall to Norfolk and Powys and Kent, and mentioning the possibility of 10-15 cm in places, suggests they might be privy to data that we aren't just yet.

Fingers crossed things firm up later tonight. Like you say maybe they're expecting a more substantial area of snow.

I've just had a look on the BBC website and it looks like an area of snow will hit midday Wednesday and last most of the day.

I think its more of an ice warning ⚠️ issue than snow warning ⚠️

It just doesn't feel cold out

Brecon Beacon mountain forecasts has snow/sleet moving back in for tonight around 8pm/9pm - euro 4 has snow for tomorrow morning through Wales north to south - and the West Wales dangler seems to be busy throughout the coming days on a lot of output - so lots to keep us busy with for now plus the warning from the meto for wednesday 10am to thursday 6am for snow and then ice

A slight dusting in the valley, but a fair bit over the tops this morning.

lovely pics - I'm sure with current model output a lot of us if not all will get to see scenes like that once again - after the last major fall being Feb/March 2018

Interesting, let's see. As it's going to be a cold week we are bound to see some potential at some point. Last night was a massive disappointment in all terms especially with that yellow warning.

Remember this well! Was my GCSE year and yielded my first snow day of my comp years! Really intense snowfall and would have left us buried if it had gone on much longer.

Thursday afternoon IIRC and we had a virtually identical event exactly two weeks later. Then 20c or something a day or two after it! After a few years of virtually no snow too.
