Been pouring with rain in good old Barry but turned very sleety now.

Nice pic. Can't see it changing to snow here.

I am practically at sea level 30m to be precise

Rain turned to wet snow in Blackmill just north of Bridgend at 100m asl. Nothing on the ground here, but suspect there could be further up the Ogmore Valley

Snowing here now. A bit late for this band as it'll clear within the next fifteen minutes, but there's a second clump of precipitation now moving into the Cardigan Bay area and moving southeastwards.

Rain here now just got woken up by it with its annoying pittter patter.

What happened to that ice and cold.

Still early and also someone needs the sack at the Met office.

Cant even get this bang on q, back in the 70s old school magnets were the form horse.

Disappointing temps in that first band earlier in the night across the country.

Temperatures now dropping again and potentially more luck from the precipitation moving down from the north West now.

4.5c here (6.7c a few hours ago)

Jay, can see showers approaching Cardiff/Caerphilly, temperatures now at 0/1c even in the city. Could get lucky...

The showers that have passed through in the last half an hour have been of rain so it's not looking good for places south of here, and besides, that precipitation moving in from the northwest is gradually becoming patchier as its energy is sapped by the high ground.

I don't understand it. There's a layer of ice on everything and the flakes that fell earlier (all ten of them!) have frozen on impact, and yet it's raining. I suppose the DPs are just too high.

Looking towards the mountain, we have a dusting at around 300m here. Bit disappointing, although the forecast was for sleet. Looks like they had it spot on.

Are you high up in Cwmbran mate? Here’s hoping for another chance down the line

The rain actually woke me up around 3am this morning.  A very light dusting of snow on cars here in Abertillery, but nothing on the roads.

A decent covering in Rhayader (@200m), though looks very wet. Be interesting if we get anymore as temp is only 0.3c.

Last nights sleety rain has frozen solid on everything now. My partner is working in Andover in Hampshire and its snowing heavy there, not fair lol.

Another close but no cigar can this one deliver weird right on the edge.Snow seems to occur in heavier bursts .Seems the heavy precipitation turns to snow around 3am then turns back to sleet lol.We need to keep an eye on Ireland tonight to see what type ofl.pp They get tonight. To see if they get snow and this front got know warm sector as it comes into Wales tonight.

Bit taken aback by that warning, especially as the most recent GFS output is having none of it and the UKV doesn't bring anything other than light precipitation any further than Devon. A front approaching from the Atlantic and colliding with cold, stagnant air in situ is by far my favourite set-up and the one that delivers for all of South Wales more than any other, but am I up for for another round of model and radar watching after last night's disappointment? Hmm.

I won't be staying up that's for sure.
