I'd like to post up a couple of Snow Photos. These Photos were taken on Monday 2nd February 2009 by my Daughter,a few Hours after an exceptional Thames Snow Streamer event.

1. - large.gallery_2739_1322_49929.jpg.83b0f60dd1cca6dbd37d4adcf499087a.jpg 2. - large.gallery_2739_1322_203901.jpg.f31e2bd18bd060626e203a3f5c78d196.jpg

1. - My Daughter's Car, outside her Maisonette in Anerley, London SE20.

2. - Looking North towards London, from the Bridge on Anerley Road that crosses the Railway lines, at Anerley Station.

That amount of Snow is very unusual for this Area of S,E. London.

Having lived there from 1984 until around 2007, I can't recall a greater Snowfall.

Perhaps only January 1987 and February 1991, would have come close to this amount of Snow.

Regards,

Tom.  ❄️

Morning all,

I hope I find yourselves and Families, well.

Back in the 1990's I stumbled across this Book in W.H.Smiths, in my home Town of Bromley, Kent. - image.thumb.png.e1919386af10440f4b489f577401454f.png

An incredible read about major Weather events, in my Home County.

Fast forward to around 2013 and I needed to get a replacement, as my well thumbed copy was starting to fall apart.

I managed to contact Co-Author, South East Meteorologist, Ian Currie.

Mr. Currie lived in Coulsdon, 5 Miles S.W. of where I worked in Croydon, Surrey.

Ian asked me to pop round after work one Evening, to pick the Book up.

He invited me in and we had a very interesting chat for a couple of hours, about major Weather events that we'd experienced, living in the South East.

With Mr. Currie's kind permission, I'd now like to post up some Snow photos, from his County Weather Books.

I'll begin with a view images of Snow photos from the Surrey County Weather Book, which Ian was also Co-Author of.

Regards,

Tom.   ❄️

Our first beast from the east, late March 2013.

A near 24 hour blizzard of powdery snow blown into deep drifts in probably our best snowstorm from an easterly since 1979.

TomSE12 - Ian Currie lived near where I lived until 1989 when I moved north. I have his 1990 Surrey Weather book (co-authored with Mark Davison) along with his book on The Great Storm of 1987. Both excellent books and I use them regularly when commenting on weather-related matters.
