I'd be careful if the supermarkets are running low there, you might end up next to the mushy peas.

It’s a great run! A lot of snow and even the south coast gets in on the action!

Genuinely if this came off for us on the south coast, I would retire from snow chasing.

nuff said.... was it bill farkin who used to say nuff said??? Me and my sister @Isleofwightsnowgal74where having a chat about it earlier. Can anyone remember him?? Where is that guy?

I remember old Bill... I even remember to see which way the grebes are facing, each winter. Wasn't it John Fallon who kept saying 'Nuff said'? I dunno, BBC Snowwatch 2002 was a long time ago...

It was Bill Farkin who said Nuff Said and talked about his Grebes. Made out that he lived in otford, Kent, just down the road from me. One year Bill kept saying he had a big forecast to release, and then after counting down the days, he said nothing would happen and just continued to post he was laughing. Wind up merchant, who then became Phil Barkin. (This post will be deleted by the mods very soon)

Sadly, the forum lost its focus and became a spamming ground for wind merchants, rather than a forum for weather enthusiasts - I suspect that’s why it was shut down and it would have been a full time job to moderate.

Nick Sussex (who I think lived on the South Downs back then) and Steve Murr both used to post.

Snow features in the forecast, but will it arrive in time for Christmas Day? Matt Taylor has the details.

The BBC now give the thumbs up for heavy disruptive snow next week!

My naked walk is looking more and more safe!

Feeling confident im on the right page now!

If so, this is good news. Looking forwards to the East Anglian coast, through South Midlands into the West Country wraparound.

Yeah watch it mate. They did say they had no idea atm which areas would be hit as expected but noted small low pressures bumping into entrenched cold air bringing disruptive snow. Good to have them on board for those of us who believe well see this

Yes gives us some small validation on those of us who have the opinion next week will be more newsworthy than some don't believe!

Looking at the graphics a rather large area of snow looks to push across the country from North West to the South East on New years eve

Definitely starting to look more likely that, someone, somewhere, will do very well out of the approaching cold spell.

We are not having to rely on the stat either! And we still have that to come

Let's hope that this will be one of those famous cold spells  we can look back on, in the years to come , we definitely deserve it.

Wishing everyone a happy Christmas, and hopefully a snowy one ?️❄️⛄

I should imagine that should any of these cold charts verify, then Darren Bett will be crying into his cornflakes, and kicking the cat.
