Daily Express will be going into meltdown with this latest model output .....can see it now

Tough one for them!

Mutant Covid

EU Shutdown

Day After Tomorrow Winter

Which will they go for!

Great to see the colder 850s, totally expected as 9 times out of 10 that is always the way with the models.

ECMWF going for A Polar Low possibly depending on shifts West would definitly make it A Polar Low.

I think the 27-29th period will see lots snow falling from the sky, but away from elevation quite a lot of wet slush.

Still a bit marginal and ground and soil temps could have done with a couple of severe frosts into them.

Which we will probably get in the next few days!!

Guess what- I did that bet on William Hill a fortnight ago for Norwich, I also have Aberdeen Birmingham and Leeds I hope all these locations receive snow little did I expect Norwich to be one of the most likely but we shall see the models do look promising for some wintryness there

That’s funny I put a £10 on Norwich airport with PP Bromley branchThey couldn’t give me a price but when I checked online it was 6/1(put bet on 5th December).Probably won’t happen but if it did hope I don’t have a battle with them over the odds!!It must be a Spurs thing betting on this white Xmas lark.Think wheels are coming off btw(sorry mods off subject).

Cold week coming up - sleet forecast next Monday, lets see if it comes off. Highs of just 4C on Christmas Day, frost in the morning, definitely a cold one by southern standards

As far as I'm concerned the Met Ofiice need to show some balls here. We have a very real possibility of a severe winter setting up. Covid supplies and people being able to get jabs could become a real issue. Think Mr Borris could do with being informed even if it doesn't come off. Double the salt deposits for major roads etc etc

Really don’t think that’s necessary at this stage.

Talk of a 2018 I think A 2010 Is More Possible Looking at those Charts.

Almost The Same Jet STREAM As 2010 COULD be a sign as Charts Beggining To LOOK ALIKE.

Polar vortex.... It's not cold enough for widespread snowfall

I disagree. Terrier and Steve Murr just messaged me and said it’s definitely cold enough ❄️⛄

snowmaker for the 28th still there and it’s same position as the 06z run

Yes first week in January we should see a move back through 6/7/8 on top of another mountain torque event. Its why I believe the SSW is practically nailed as we have another 2 upcoming wave breaking events. Any model that shows rinse and repeat with each episode that bit colder is on the money. Then we potentially have the SSW as the big finale. Never been as positive about January AND February in any winter

How long have you been studying the models Scott??

And unfortunately the snow graphs especially at that range are too unrealistic to make a forecast you will expect closer to the time to be reserved for high ground

And always the ECM is starting to show less amplification around Greenland area which is bad news
