Not so much a song but a line from one. Having lived through Every cold/snowy winter since and including 1963 and amazing snow events like Feb 78 Blizzard and exceptionally wintry months like Dec 2010.

This line from Sit Down by James says it all.

If I hadn't seen such riches I could live with being poor.

Yes, very true.. The James song incidentally was released in Spring 1991.

When a winter passes by I always think .. what could have been... and live in hope for the next one that it may bring some decent cold and snowy weather, not just one-two day shots, but given the poor state of affairs since winter 12/13 my expectations are so low, even just a one day cover of snow counts as a victory!

for me, there was always a big change between late one year and early the next. traditionally a lot of new sounds were released after crimbo so the charts for late january were usually different from early december.

this has been lost though especially in the last 15 years.
