disconnect the cable from the logger and plug the black end to that and then the other end into your serial connector on the pc.

Do you not have a bit on the end that is USB or Serial? As i only see a RJ11 extention cable in the picture? Your logger is one of the older ones looking at the picture?

The logger is Dec 2014

the wire, loose, is the part that Pit asked me to get. No USB  or serial end which is what floored me the small insert fits in the data logger, if that is what it is supposed to do. The other end will fit nothing I have. The end of the cable from the data logger has a, without undoing it from the back of the tower, has multiple heads, is there one with sixteen? And the two screws to ensure it does not fall out of the tower. That is the best explanation my lack of pc understanding allows I am afraid. Any good?

So does the logger has a RJ11 on the end only and can't remove it?

You tell me, Pit was on a bit since I hoped he might enlighten us!

Yep that is the end that wiull fit in the data logger. Where the other end is supposed to go I assume the back of the tower but there is nothing vailable there it would fit into.

John it should plug into the connector you got for the serial port. That's what mine used to fit too.

The end on the cable is NOT like that Pit, please see photo I sent earlier this afternoon. In fact the other end fits neatly into it!

True as I cannot get the camera round the back of the pc table and the tower, I will try it tomorrow as with poor eyesight the light in the pc room is not good enough to see well enough. Hopefully do it in the morning. But the link is like the shot you show.

For Pit, looking down the back of the tower, the blue part at the bottom is the same as the one you showed. That is my logger cable into tthe pc. Is that okay?

No, that is because only one end will fit, the other end does not fir the serial port on the pc.

It should plug straight into the blue adaptor.
