The beebs got heavy snow for 6 hours in Perth from midnight tonight... Radar wouldn't suggest this

The Beeb probably shouldn't have suggested it either

Their forecasts are generally as much use as a useless thing these days!

You should have a decent shot tomorrow morning though!

I used to trust the MeteoGroup weather app implicitly but over the last year or so it's accuracy has been disappointing to say the least.

Got up to Gifford yesterday and watched a few hares playing in a snowy field, they seemed as excited as the near-ish children on sledges

On Monday evening and night we got 6cm of snow approx. 6 miles SE of Perth , however it was a fairly localised set up so it was extremely lucky and with only being 40m too is amazing. deepest snow since BFTE here and still a large amount of snow on the ground as i am on a north facing slope.

I had it installed for ages. Really liked it. Then they jumped into bed with Auntie and it went to lemon!

look further up thread @Mr Frostposted charts showing the potential tomorrow, certainly no indication of 6 hours tonight but wouldn't say no

and dont trust @101_Northhe has clearly moved to some kind of snowy hotspot and pretends to only be 300m from the previous snow desert.

On forecasts, Beeb/MeteoGroup forecast for me has precipitation starting soon, snowing in various intensities all night before turning to rain tomorrow after dawn. MetO forecast says no precipitation at all until after dawn tomorrow, when it's straight to rain.

I know which I'd prefer, but I know which is more likely. If its going to start soon, ala Beeb, then it'd better get a move on as radar is pretty blank.

Ha i can see how you would of thought that as it's almost too unfair to be true. loads of snow still around this evening. more or less still all there except roads and some paths are somewhat cleared.

Different weather next week.

Strong easterly winds.

Less cold than of late.

Definitely not a BFTE.

Met office 10 day trend.

A decent cold weather run so no complaints here

I'd agree, Strathaven is nice enough, I had a mate who used to live there. My brother lives in Larkhall and all I'll say is, it wouldn't be my choice. No idea what Stonehouse is like but I'd think it would do OK for snow, but neither would I be getting excited.

BBC forecast for here is going to be a ridiculous failure tonight, as expected.

Potential for upgrades and a good spell to develop... You may be sceptical though.

Ironically will probably feel a lot colder in some respects with windchill and driving sleet and rain if it comes to that.

That's an ugly old mild sector for about half of Scotland:

The 950 temps on the Euro4 are fairly ugly given the height (approx 480m) for many people too:
