The trend towards milder and wetter UK winters continues. There are projections that COULD see the vast majority of England being frost free, MOST YEARS,, as early as 2040. For Scotland, the projection is similar but not until 2080.

Spending winters in Scandinavia, if you have the money, could be an option. I worked in Norway during the 1990s and it was horrifically expensive. A Jack Daniels and coke was £16, buying a round was not for the faint hearted.

Going by the radar, @Mair Snawwill hopefully be a happy chap this morning. Radar is predicting I’ll see something fall in the next hour, fingers crossed it’ll be sna.

edit. Found them..euro4 looks good here tomorrow as wind swings more easterly. Hope we stay on the right side of marginal though

Jings but it's cold this morning! I went out to post a birthday card earlier and, even although the post box is only a hundred and fifty metres away, my knees have frozen up and are now quite painful. Hot Radox bath called for methinks.

Temperature -4.2deg.C up from -6.3deg.C at 01:03, humidity 95%, no wind has registered so far today (but that might be because the wind measuring thingy has frozen solid), pressure is 1021.3hPa rising slowly, there's been no rain, cloud cover is thin and patchy, say 1/8, and the dew point is -5deg.C so the effect of any moisture heading this way will be interesting.

A long way out but some charts showing a potentially more substantial event towards the end of next week.

No more snow overnight but it's COLD! looks like this frost gonna be a constant thing coming up (for at least another week) ultimately eventually there will be a change to snot from the atlantic just hope when it does come along we can go out with a bit of a snowfall

Scottish Borders and East Lothian looks a great place to be over the next few days - heavy frequent showers of sleet/snowfall to low levels. 
Wee bit marginal at times but when is it ever not nowadays!

Risk of rain/sleet/snowfall to low levels continues through the first half of the week - NE/E/SE obviously higher risk due to the forecast wind direction. 
Hopefully these showers move much further inland so the rest of us can join in! 

IMBY keeping an eye on this - best bet for snowfall further West at the moment!

During the middle of January unsettled conditions are likely to affect southern and central parts of the UK with drier weather expected for the north and west. Whilst generally remaining colder than average some milder interludes are possible in the south. Toward the end of the month colder conditions become more probable, this bringing an increasing chance of snow.

Not sure about @Hawesy, but we have very light snow here. So light it barely exists but it is just this side of extinction. Briefly.
