Snowing here at sea level now, was lying inland yesterday but this is the first bits here, whoooo

Pepped up again here. Be a lie to describe it as heavy or even moderate but a steady rate with decent flakes. Still..... nice to watch falling in calm conditions!

Next few days look filled with promise, the 12z's show a feed from the E/NE with kinks in the isobars / troughs .. in a fairly slack flow so hopefully not too much mixing out of any cold air

Great to get out and about today, some great scenery & skies. Sunset was magical too..

Got up to Gifford yesterday and watched a few hares playing in a snowy field, they seemed as excited as the near-ish children on sledges

Very light snow showers here too. So light that you can count the individual flakes on the ground but at least it is snow.  Temp 0.3C and still very icy. Quite a few accidents on the pavements are not helping the local A&E.

Ongoing and insignificant lamppost snow here from a leaden sky, otherwise visibility perfect and can see far into the brights lights of Fife.

Didn't last long. Only minutes......but it was worth rushing out the door for!

High of 1C here today but back down to 0.1C now. Had about 1mm top-up this afternoon.

Jo - off topic, but I seen you're in East Lothian, and I've occasionally seen a photo of a standing stone that sometimes accompanies the daily Netweather e-mail. It very much reminds me of the stone near East Linton which I've driven past recently - do you know if it's the same one?

Still waiting on that elusive first snowflake of winter falling from the sky here in Pittenweem. This afternoon’s light showers broke up before reaching here when for once we’re on the right side of marginal  Friend in Cupar reporting a light covering.

Just as well I’m very patient!

This is our 2nd snow event in the space of a week all be it today’s is quite low key but still snowing,,,,probably the first time since February 2018!!

December round here has been, by any standard, very good. Best December since 2010 easily.

We've also been pretty unlucky with it - seemed to largely miss us entirely other than a few flakes at various points! Good luck to everyone else this evening (always nice in these setups when the cold air is in place and you get precipitation cropping up at short notice!). Going to do another summary this evening I think, with some considerable potential tomorrow and for the foreseeable...
