Snowing at the minute but not settling. Forecasts suggest not to expect much here but looking forward to seeing plenty of snow photos ☃️

Nothing to see here. Wet ground, think showers have been of rain.

Clear here with a slight frost, currently -0.6C, with all but scattered remnants of the Xmas Eve snow clinging on in places. At least it looks like being a brighter day so we'll hopefully get out for a wander in a bit.

Every forecast for here for the next few days is different from the other. I could see snow, or rain, or a mix, or nothing at all. I'll just have to wait and see and take what we get.

Snow settling on the higher Pentlands this morning. Heading up later for a walk so fingers crossed for a decent photo or two.

Yesterday’s rain started turning to snow when we were heading to bed around midnight. Light snow, -2c and a wee covering here this morn

Cold and bright morning.  The sky has that look that a few light showers may break through..

We've missed the heaviest of the showers but I did seem some soft hail/wet snow mix falling at about 7am which briefly turned the place white before melting. Hoping we get something more substantial later today but thereafter the meto forecast is dry for the week, or most of it......

There's snow in there somewhere. Latest hi-res pics DIY-style. 7Mb and 11Mb sizes so good to enlarge and focus on finer detail / cloud formation.

At some point last night it did sleet or snow because I can see faint traces of it in the grass but it's just drizzle now and so gives the impression of just another damp, grey, winter's day.

Temperature 1.1deg.C up from 0.6deg.C minimum at 04:18, humidity is 95%, wind is 0 to 3mph south-southwesterly with a maximum gust this morning of 13mph, pressure is now steady at 967.3hPa, there's been 4.0mm of rain today and 18.0mm in the last 24 hours, cloud cover is 8/8 and the dew point is 1deg.C.

Diablo, he say snow coming. I ha'e ma doubts.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
