couple of crackers there, real dogs

i have a frenchie and a boston terrier and cant work out if they are hyper intelligent and taking the pi55 or are just thick as mince.

Is the kilted tool link permanently broken? It does not work for me now and it was a great thing.

Belive it or not the white one on the left has papers stating she is a border collie, so am stumped what the black and white one is

I will look at fixing the link later, need to recover my old files before I left my last job.

The radar, as ever in northerly set ups, is doing just enough to tease with a fairly hefty looking band of showers (I believe basically along the lines of this funky shaped trough below) making it just past Birnam:

I doubt it'll amount to more than a dusting at absolute most, especially since the temperature here is relatively high (although the dewpoint is comfortably below freezing so I'd imagine it would be snow), but I did sleep through most of the earlier snowfall (somehow, despite the thundersnow) so I'll probably give it 15 minutes at least...

Oddly enough the original one (in my signature since at least 2013) still works, although I'm assuming some of the links are dead or outdated.

It's going to fizzle before it hits you and then find some new legs south of the Forth.

Almost certainly, it looked alright as far as intensity goes but it'll take more than a fairly heavy shower to actually land a hit in Fife from a northerly

It has happened (maybe 5 times that I can remember) but I'm struggling to think of when other than those times it's associated with a proper cold front or some sort of mini-low.

It's white outside, but also a little dark to tell how deep.

Morning all! A lovely day yesterday, a little rain overnight and this morning it's about 2c and cloudy. Another walk today I think to get the old muscles moving as I doubt I'll be going very far over the next few days! Last night was our last at the local hostelry for some time. Big roaring fire, ginormous Christmas tree and a very pleasant couple of hours in most convivial company. If it's nice on Ne'er Day we may manage a wee toast to 2021 outside with yet another big fire and a few drams! Hope you all have a great Christmas and hope you have lots of snow soon! ⛄

Edited to say that there's a good dusting of snow on the Cuillin! A bit more please, down to my level! That would be nice! ❄️

Morning all!

It was never in doubt! Great pictures from the usual folk who hog all the snowfall in this thread every Winter! :santa-emoji:

If I had to pick two days of the year to wake up to settling snowfall...Christmas Eve/Day would be the ones! Very jealous of you all.

2C here currently as I look out the window to a snowless landscape! Hint of pink from the sunrise.

Looking ahead...buzzing for this!

Cheeky, but not true.

I'll admit to that being a little naughty.

1) I was of course never planning a Xmas BBQ

2) we have 850s around -8 over NE Scotland today.

The latter have gradually dropped in the models over the last few days though, which illustrates that all the "it's going to be too marginal for snow" posts are pointless at more than a couple of days range with the synoptics the models have been throwing out.

Nice covering here today and still snow showers on and off.  How I missed those pinky shower clouds!

Good to see some festive looking photos this morning ☃️

Clear skies, nice sunrise and everything frozen solid here this morning. Car was a joy to defrost first thing to go and pick up the Christmas food order (ordered at a time when we were expecting more than just us to eat it!).

Just had a very heavy hail shower, so more white stuff atop the hill. Think I need a new sensor for one of my weather stations as it's currently showing 19c! Earlier this week it was showing 46c! Hhhhhmmmm.  Wonder if it's the rain getting into it somewhere and affecting the readings. Bummer!

Excellent photos! To think people were (and still are, amusingly) saying very little chance away from the mountains of Scotland. Plenty more chances in the next ten days - definitely a forecasters nightmare  Merry Christmas!
