So far today, no rain...hope that continues! High of 7.8, low of 6.3 overnight, currently 7.1 and it looks like the cloud level might lift enough to allow me switch off the dining room lights.  I live in hope in any case!

Cloudy, breezy but dry. Temp 8c.  Dullsville. Ho Hum. However, it does look to improve closer to Christmas, but I'm not holding my breath.

Blue sky i can see blue sky... first time in what feels like weeks i can see sunshine..

Over in the mad house its wild scenes as a mega freeze unfolds intime for xmas day. 6 runs on the trot and victory is being declared.. you just know that by 7pm tonight they will all be slashing wrists and jumping off cliffs declaring winters over..❄❄❄

Having spent the first two and a bit months in hospital due to a lack of breathing, but not absence thankfully, and then the next four months shielding, I am keen to get out at any opportunity. We're therefore heading out to lunch again, and what a nice day it is for that. The sun (see previous explanation) is out, the rain has kept away and the temperature is hovering between cold and chilly. Perfect for a wee walk and a bite to eat.

Temperature 7.3deg.C, which is max for the day so far, up from a minimum of 3.1deg.C at 05:29, humidity is 90%, wind is 0 to 5mph southerly, pressure is 999.1hPa rising, there's been no rain today nor in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 5/8.

Finally a day where outside work does not involve multiple layers of waterproofs and thermals.

Currently 7.4c, light winds and plenty of blue sky.

Annoyingly, what cloud there is is towards the south and this is preventing us getting sunshine here due to the low angle of the sun at this time of year.

Still, its bright, the skies are a lovely blue colour, and even a cracking dawn so will happily accept these conditions.

Thanks @Benvironment interesting post.

As others have said, nice day here in NE Fife too, some lovely sunshine and mild at 9c in light winds.

Models pointing to a cooler theme next week. I would certainly welcome some drier weather and some frost and sunshine!

Oh good, a competition. For a snaw obsessed person I suggest you call her Tracy Snaw while she's hardly there at all and then Lotti Snaw when there's much more of her.

Wee cracker! So innocent, so sweet, but hiding beneath that fluffy exterior is an absolute demon. Once home, she will take over command of the property and also the best chair. And think of the fun when the wee cutie discovers the joy of curtain climbing and leaping off onto your head! Ah, the joys of being owned by a cat!

Oh dear, I knew I should have chopped the wood yesterday! Never mind, waterproofs will be the order of the day! Mild at 6c and light pishiness. Braw. Not.

I’m looking at the met office rainfall radar for the last six hours since 4am and I’m amazed how the worst of the rain avoids Edinburgh and then it reinvigorates once past Edinburgh , it seems to happen regularly

My cat never climbs, rarely jumps. She devotes all her energy to having teenage girl moods.

Aye but you have to remember that most of England hasn’t seen snow since the great freeze of 1630 where people ice skated on the Thames.

Phew! 45 minutes of log chopping there! A wee break in the rain forced me out and my timing was just right! Dark clouds coming in now. Am now relaxing with tea and peanut M&M's. Aaaaaaand breathe......
