I'll get to Calgary on Friday but we're not going to Lake Louise until Monday. So basically moving house on Friday then going on holiday on Monday. @Mair Snaw is never going to talk to me again as it's Banff after Lake Louise...

Good luck with the move! I love that area so I'm not jealous at all.... I've been to Banff and Lake Louise twice during the winter and even proposed to my wife in the snow there! Please keep @Mair Snaw and the rest of us happy by sending some snow photos

In other news, I'm off to buy a sledge as this December is likely to be the snowiest on record with no @CatchMyDrift in the country

Saturday is starting to look interesting - -4C/-5C uppers, precipitation about. Surface at 2-4C depending on height asl...

Maybe the first day of filming scenes for @Mair Snaw ‘s slight sleety mess film?

@Blitzen You nearly had me then. I almost read the instructions.

An inch of rain so far today.

Sunrise was just an angry blob in the distance this morning:

The breeze has blown stiffly all night here, it may just be me but it seems to have been relentlessly breezy for a while now.

I should zip it really as assuming the flight still goes ok on Friday I'll be waking up here on Tuesday morning

Lovely up there. Nothing like Lake Louise for me today. Just a dull, damp and mild Dundee. 10.7C

edit. Last time I was at Lake Louise it was in June some years ago and the temp was 30C. Ice cream the order of the day. The day before we were in Kananskis at 5C and there were snow and hail showers though not lying as even there they have wet bulbs/baws in June.

Doesn't feel like it's actually stopped raining here for weeks. We picked up our new puppy on Friday and house training has not been fun. I think we've got to the point where he's pretending to pee so he can get back inside out of the rain. The lawn is a mud bath and the cats are sulking.

@CatchMyDriftgood luck with the move

@101_Northactually seen more than me last year and that was a miserable rain to snow to rain with a quick snowman if i remember correctly. Best of luck CMD i also frequent Canada a lot and love it mainly for Tim Hortons which although in Scotland now it is not quite the same here, less good and way more expensive.

Models hinting at seasonal weather it would be great for cold and dry to materialise and dry out the dog walking paths, the constant towelling down of the dogs after each walk is getting tedious

I like the look of the overnight ECM with the cold  pool and ENE flow gfs also showed it heading our way so hopefully the chance of a bit of wintry weather in the next week or so ☃️ C167F1F4-F01B-47B1-8F8B-21960A7B09F4.thumb.png.1582e1c2f8fcab35ef9de4efb37bfa71.png95CB3DC1-87D9-4CE6-8433-7FF75798851E.thumb.png.e077e06f0dbbb45853a7bc0e7c461ac6.png

Hawsey my  granny belonged Pittenweem, she met my grandad when she worked as a herring lassie, he came from Lowestoft. They got married and settled in Fife and had 9 kids, the youngest was my dad

Lovely day here too, still and sunny and summery.

That must have been a tough job (the herring lassie and having 9 kids)!

A nice foggy day (lifted a bit) but barely been any fog this autumn and a distinct chill in the air. Feeling wintry outside

Farmer MacCloud has a certain ring

I binned the kitchen bins this morning, that's when you know it's getting serious

I was thinking Old MacPuffy. Either will do.

In case you find yourself locked away in a packing crate later, I hope you enjoy a good journey tomorrow on the way to having a great time in Canada. All the best for the future.

Temperature is 5.3deg.C up from a minimum of 0.0deg.C at 05:15, humidity is 98%, wind is zero with a maximum gust of 1mph at 00:03, pressure is 1022.5hPa steady and there's been 0.2mm of rain since midnight.
