Good luck with the move! I love that area so I'm not jealous at all.... I've been to Banff and Lake Louise twice during the winter and even proposed to my wife in the snow there! Please keep @Mair Snaw and the rest of us happy by sending some snow photos

In other news, I'm off to buy a sledge as this December is likely to be the snowiest on record with no @CatchMyDrift in the country

Lovely up there. Nothing like Lake Louise for me today. Just a dull, damp and mild Dundee. 10.7C

 

edit. Last time I was at Lake Louise it was in June some years ago and the temp was 30C. Ice cream the order of the day. The day before we were in Kananskis at 5C and there were snow and hail showers though not lying as even there they have wet bulbs/baws in June.

Another mild one here today, minimum of 10c, max was 12c. Rain didn’t amount to much.

Turning cooler for all in the next few days. Thus far November mean temperatures are running at least 2c above normal at almost all Scottish stations.

Was out in the Lomonds again at the weekend, keeping it local! Sunday was a good day for walking.

Doesn't feel like it's actually stopped raining here for weeks. We picked up our new puppy on Friday and house training has not been fun. I think we've got to the point where he's pretending to pee so he can get back inside out of the rain. The lawn is a mud bath and the cats are sulking.

@101_Northactually seen more than me last year and that was a miserable rain to snow to rain with a quick snowman if i remember correctly. Best of luck CMD i also frequent Canada a lot and love it mainly for Tim Hortons which although in Scotland now it is not quite the same here, less good and way more expensive. 

Models hinting at seasonal weather it would be great for cold and dry to materialise and dry out the dog walking paths, the constant towelling down of the dogs after each walk is getting tedious

Yesterday's dog walk in the woods above Coulter Water. Was incredibly noisy in the gale - trees swinging side to side. Photo looking from on high down into the Clyde Valley, with Cornhill Castle in the far distance.

Well, it looks like I've bought the farm. Not in the American slang kind of way, thankfully. I mean I've bought a actual agricultural arrangement of arable and animals, or at least a share in one. Saw it yesterday morning, offer in yesterday afternoon, accepted this morning. That's the way to do it. Additionally I now own part of a tractor, a mower, a baler, a Ford Capri (disassembled), three kit cars (disassembled), another land rover (disassembled), two highland coos, sixteen sheeps, twelve chickens, a goat, six ducks, a large workshop and some decent workshop machinery. Quite excited about that.

Temperature 6.2deg.C up from a minimum of 4.3deg.C at 05:54, humidity 97%, no wind, pressure 1011.5hPa rising, currently dry but 0.2mm of rain since midnight and 9.2mm in the last 24 hours, and cloud cover is 7/8.

Lovely late November day here in the East Neuk. Was supposed to be in Arran this week but being stuck at home for a weeks holiday isn’t so bad when you have this on your doorstep.  Currently 7c.

I like the look of the overnight ECM with the cold  pool and ENE flow gfs also showed it heading our way so hopefully the chance of a bit of wintry weather in the next week or so

Hawsey my  granny belonged Pittenweem, she met my grandad when she worked as a herring lassie, he came from Lowestoft. They got married and settled in Fife and had 9 kids, the youngest was my dad

Lovely day here too, still and sunny and summery.

I was thinking about the massive area of blocking high pressure to the east and what winter was that the common theme then I remembered ah yes 62/63 ..

not saying we will get a winter like that but just looks really quite similar to me and the way that higher pressure to the east is looking like having a big influence I certainly wouldn’t rule anything out then add on the possible warming in the strat which is appearing in the later stages of runs currently, to bring on his this year?
