This is more like it. Bright sunshine this morning out of a mostly clear sky and what cloud there is is high and thin. Also a very calm day although the wind direction recorder on my weather thingy says the wind if from the northeast and the southeast and the southwest and the northwest, which is a bit like saying, "don't ask me mate".

Temperature currently 9.4deg.C with a max of 13.9deg.C at 00:47 and a min of 8.8deg.C at 07:20, humidity 86%, wind zero, pressure 1009.6hPa rising quickly, and there's been no rain since midnight.

Yes much better day here too. Long sunny spells and currently 10.7C. Had an enjoyable walk down to and round the Riverside nature park pre-lunch.

Been a lovely day here weather wise, as for non weather stuff its been crud, pharmacy managed to forget to keep my daughters medication refrigerated so her 28 day injection had gone bad. So now we have to wait until Wednesday. Lots of calls to specialists and emails to confirm that she is ok to wait that long..

Tomorrow and sunday look pretty bad for wind and rain so stay safe everybody

Bonny day on Deeside and the dogs enjoyed the walk through the leaves. Our Christmas market has been called off tomorrow however due to the weather forecast.

Interesting day temperature wise - max was 12c at 1am and its been dropping steadily ever since then, now 3.5c!

Other than that a nice day with light winds, variable cloud and some good long spells of sunshine.

First Redwings of the winter seen today - 4 of them in fact descending on one of the rowans this afternoon along with a Mistle Thrush.  Now to keep an eye out for the bramblings.

Forecast for here for tomorrow has improved with the rain due to depart by mid-afternoon.

Way at the end of the run again, and maybe not massively cold and snowy for us, but it's hardly screaming "raging vortex" either....

Good morning from a very mild , sunny dry and calm Skye. I saw a pink sparkly unicorn frolicking on the shore alongside some selkies a wee while ago. Oh, wake up willya! It's a hoor o' a day oot there, wi' horizontal rain and strong gusts. Anemometer still not fixed so I'm relying on a friends' readings from her weather station. Bad today, but worse tomorrow I fear, so best make sure that the oil lamps are cleaned and lookout the tea lights and candles. Catch you all on the other side!

Yesterday stayed nice all day so we walked to the cafe for lunch and then I went to the shop for the Six Nations carry-oot, which appears to have disappeared overnight to be replaced with a foul headache and an unwelcome need to get back to the shop. The day is not starting well. I only hope that the Orkney Brewery can keep up.

Temperature currently 13.1deg.C up from a minimum of 6.4deg.C at midnight, humidity is 92%, wind is 4/5mph southerly generally with gusts up to 20mph, pressure is 988.7hPa and there's been 3.8mm of rain so far today.

I bought a share in BrewDog so that I can go to the Annual General Meeting, which has a post-meeting jaffa cakesup that defies explanation. (By which I mean I can never remember it.) I'm beginning to wonder though whether BrewDog is still a 'craft beer' operation; the brewery covers half the Northeast.

Morning.

Temp 13c   Wind SE 14mph   highest gust 13.7mph   987mbs   2.2mm rain.

Not as bad as expected but the NW looks to have been and is still being pummelled by heavy rain.   System appears to be splitting over the central belt at the moment.

Wet start   to the day but got up to 15c at midday but now dry and very windy with a southerly gale making huge drifts of leaves everywhere. Very wintry looking now with bare trees.

England going into lockdown, UK going into freezer?

gfsnh-0-384.png?12

Still a way out but high pressure somewhere around the UK seems to be a recurring theme in the models.

Back in reality, wet and windy this morning, dry and very windy this afternoon. Plenty of leaves flying around so I suspect a lot of trees will have been stripped, which probably means the end of the lovely autumnal scenes recently.

Liked Scotland's scrappy victory over twenty years of defeats in Wales and loving Italy's resistance so far against England in the rugby. Big game still to come.

Temperature currently 10.0deg.C  down from a max of 13.7deg.C at 11:19, humidity 80%, wind around 10mph southeasterly with a max gust of 34mph so far, pressure 996.6hPa, and only 4.8mm of rain so far although I thought it would be more. Maybe horizontal rain doesn't hit the measuring cup.

Sadly, Italy's resistance has collapsed and the game's become very one-sided, would have preferred to see a battle from the Italians.

High of 13.8c, 16.5mm of horizontal rain but surprisingly, my weather station is only recording a top gust of 29.8 km/h and wind speed of 20.8 km/hr where as the two closest to me have both recorded gusts over 80km/hr. I might look into buying a 2nd anemometer and locating it in a different bit of the garden as the line of trees at the back of me might be providing too much protection even though they looked like they might suffer damage today.

Very windy here too with showery rain at times. A bit milder though. Currently 9.1C from a max of 13.1C this morning. Min was 4.5C in the early hours so quite a dramatic swing AM.

My wife is moaning about to much sport being on TV today. Not sure why as I have only watched the Wallabies v the All Blacks, Wales v  Scotland, Hearts v Hibs and currently France v Ireland. In between a wee bit of England v Italy and Liverpool v West Ham. I blame the weather.
