ECMWF data now available!

Morning all,

Just a heads up on the fantastic news that the ECMWF have made data that previously cost a fair amount of money to view free for all!

Wonderful for us enthusiasts, and will be a great help over the months and years to come. Let's start with out first freebie - access to long range seasonal charts:

Here's the mean SLP forecast for November. Strong mid Atlantic and Greenland pressure? Yes please!

Doesn't look like it at the moment, it's just the charts themselves.

It's global.

You can view charts for any area in the world.

Am I correct to say that you cannot see the eps charts for days 11 to 15 ??  (Apart from clusters)

Not being clear, dorry, my thoughts are that they may end up allowing access to eu citizens only

That won't happen.

The policy is regarding EU countries allowing data to be available as a whole. Numerous countries around the world have their own version of an open data policy, but it doesn't block access to citizens outside of that particular country.
