Yeah, seems like a convective burst today closed the circulation. 

50mph, 1004mb.

Recon has actually reported a 6 mile wide closed eye so the system may actually be stronger.

SHIPS is strongest of the models bringing the system to 69KT. NHC have gone with them more or less.

The best case for this system seems to be replicate Hurricane Earl in 2016 which took the same path and made it to 979mb, 85mph. By landfall it had the rugby ball with an eye look that systems have often when they are about to rapidly intensify (Joaquin 15 or Mathew 16 probably being the best examples).

Now 997mb, 60mph. 

Eyewall is now around 30 miles large but winds only extend another 60 miles out so quite compact.

It made it to Hurricane status before making landfall this morning.

Hit as a Cat 1 Thurs 3rd Sept ...HURRICANE NANA MAKES LANDFALL ON THE COAST OF BELIZE BETWEEN DANGRIGA AND PLACENCIA...

At 12:00 am Hurricane Nana was located near latitude 16.8N, longitude 88.3W, or about 13 miles south-southwest of Dangriga and 50 miles south of Belize City. Maximum sustained winds were near 75mph and the system was moving to the west-southwest at 16mph. - A Hurricane Warning remains in effect for the coast of Belize from Belize City southward, and a Tropical Storm Warning and a Hurricane Watch remains in effect for the coastline north of Belize City. The National Meteorological Service continues to closely monitor Hurricane Nana and urges the public to remain indoors for the passage of this storm and continue stay informed.  http://nms.gov.bz/
