Some lying snow in Bishops Cleeve but now all gone, but Cleeve Hill 300 metres asl had 5 cm and holding on well.

Moderate steady rain here on the far eastern reaches of Hampshire, but the temperature has started to dive and every so often there's snowflakes in the mix.

Yeah but doesn't it usually correct southwards? Could be wrong about that though. Looks pretty good right now.

I doubt this will be nailed down until tomorrow night. I had a look earlier and the BBC were expecting the snow to go as far north as the Midlands.

Some colder air would be nice! Have peaked @ 5.4°C at: 13:06, with the air in from the North we still have a DP 0.8°C. Appreciate the air is cooler, but cold, hmmm well not so sure...With the rotation over Hampshire having pulled away now down over the channel, and cloudy skies, even now it's 2.4°C, and unless it clears is unlikely to creep much lower...

Just had an hour of Snow on the southern tip of the Isle of Wight in Niton. Surprised really, the temps dropped right off and the light rain turned to snow so overall fairly pleased.

Zoom in on that and it it is very much to the north and the east of the area, avoiding Cornwall, Devon, large parts of Somerset and a swathe of the south coast, but hey it's a forecast..and we know how often they go awry..

Who knows, but I'm not banking on that doing overly much down here, but that's Ok...I'm sure at some point the direction will change and then things may well take a turn...enjoy and keep posting the pictures..

Quite often the IOW turns up trumps, again very much the direction and seemingly the height in the middle of the island comes in to play, as it often does with storms and twisty things that are often found to the NE of the island towards Pompey..

Thats a shame you didnt get to see any, its fairly high up here, about 300 ft asl so that probably made the difference.

Definitely, It can be a blessing and a curse, the south of the Island is quite hilly so that makes a big difference in both summer and winter.

A light dusting over Mendip today and it settled on cars and grass slightly in Shepton Mallet first thing.

Wednesday looks interesting but I will be in Wiltshire mid week so I really need an event below 100m

I’m learning GEM is actually right up there with EC, UKMO and GFS up to 120h in fact I think it was the most accurate model recently.

Don’t discount it

From Matt H on Twitter re GEM short range, not related to our region just highlighting GEM as a worthwhile model.

Agree, most definitely shouldn’t rule out the GEM solution at short range. Alas there isn’t cross model agreement for this system on Wednesday. Too far north we get a soaking, too far south we get nothing. Be a brave person to call this one right now. I think we’ll need to wait another 24 hours for more certainty.

Friday looks interesting as well according to the latest ECM run.
