OH said we had Thunder and hale which was heavy enough to make the ground white this afternoon.

Dull and drizzly here too, 6mm so far which takes me over 200mm for the month - highest for any month here for the 7 years I've kept accurate records.

Looking back at the long term Southampton rainfall data available on the Met Office website, it covers 1855 to 2000  and is usually slightly wetter than here, I see that it only had >200mm in a month twice in the 2nd half of the 20th. century (1951, 1970) so about every 25 years or so. But for the first half of the century, it occurred 10 times.

Perhaps we are returning to a generally wetter period in southern England, albeit one that we've seen before.

A proper drizzle fest of a day! Still, it gave a test to one of my RC cars as I put a Gyro inside of it to see how well it could handle in slippery conditions - rather well it seems!

9mm of drizzle, taking the month to 212mm. Temp maxed at 15°C, currently 14°C.

Since I last posted it's dropped a whole 0.1°C to 13.8°C. The drizzle has finally stopped although of course it won't be dry for long.

Overnight min was 13.4°C, rain to 0900GMT 6.7mm.  Currently tanking it down and blowing a real hoolie.  I see on the radar that the tip of Cornwall is clear, so there is hope for later!

That's some big rain on the way. Not going to get much gardening done this morning.

Loving the corner cobwebs in here btw.

Squall line going through here with lashing torrential rain and very gusty winds. More impressive than last weekend’s efforts.

First sight of the sun for three days currently!  Rain to five minutes ago....9.7mm.  Our local stream is right up to possible flood level according to EA, but will quickly go down now it has stopped raining.

Light rain showers this morning, 8.6mm so far.
Sun is trying to come out with the lighter cloud and some pleasant blue poking through.
Wind forecasts were very wrong once again, they had us for 35-42mph gusts this morning. The southerly wind bought is 10-14mph and 15-23mph gusts.
Wind has moved WSW now and is 12mph with 16-20mph gusts.

More stronger winds are forecast here in the 40s to early 50s from tomorrow evening through to Monday midday.

Beautiful sunshine and windy, so out in the garden. Clearing ivy and ripping down fence panels. Could do with an easterly at some point, so I can burn it all.
