Only got to 12.7C this afternoon. Coolest 1st October max I’ve ever recorded.

Morning all. Over an inch of rain overnight in EX24. Still hammering down. Wind has shifted with the pivoting low in the channel to ENE, local station measured 45mph gust at 06.00. Tasty stuff.

4mm of rain on Wednesday, 5mm rain yesterday.

16mm so far today.
Now 13.4c, 979.7 hPa, ESE to E wind, 15-18mph with 20-24mph gusts and a few 26-30mph gusts.
Nothing like the mid 40s gusts forecast for overnight and this morning.

Rain continuing through the night, but I didn’t notice these strong winds that were forecast when I stepped outside..

8.8°C at: 07:26 is the low

Not as wet here, 12.6mm so far today.

Models seem to be turning down the rainfall totals here for tomorrow too..

Gusty winds, had a 36mph gust on my station. We're kind of sheltered from the NE so not surprised it's not stronger.

It’s a wet one for sure, although, I expected worse at the radar. Other than that band down in Dorset, the rain is moderate and sporadic so far.

Didn't get too wet this morning, but we're under the bright radar returns now and it's been chucking it down.

Stopped at 44.6mm here. New daily record!

The wind didn't get anywhere near the predicted 51mph gusts / 27mph wind speed here. Max was 33mph gust and 19mph wind speed.

Some sunshine now.

19.8mm here as so far. A very wet start but it’s been dry and mostly cloudy for the last couple of hours since the rain cleared. 14.4°C

The sun was shining a short while ago, and the gap  was appreciated as I needed to go out, similar figure to @Mapantz with 41mm today but almost 48mm since the rain started...wind wise it has calmed down, although nothing untoward here today, that could be tomorrows bag...

Pretty chilly out today, the car registering just 11C and intermittent bursts of moderate rain. If only this were winter...

Its been a while since we have had such a wet day like today and with much more rain forecast its easy to see why flooding could become a issue even though its generally been very dry before, the roads were already beginning to flood in some areas.

Dry all afternoon with a few sunny spells. A few showers in the channel now that might reach here soon. 14.2°C

Hope this isn't a double post, thought I'd done it 10 min utes ago but no...

41.4 mm here today, all before 11 am. Grand daughter cycled to college in the torrential bit at the end - and I did warn her last night! Squelch.

52.5mm for the event, the 17 hours from 6pm yesterday and that feels 99% like some kind of a record for the station going back 15 years or so, I need to check that.

The biggest surprise is my VP2 agreeing with my check gauge to within 0.4 mm - not an everyday occurrence!

A mostly sunny afternoon down here to the south of the rain band....just!  Temperature even managed to get up to 14.7°C, dropped off now though.

I wonder if the Met Office have been too hasty with their Amber warning down here now?

The one you posted yesterday was wrong for today, for here anyway! Currently 28.5mm and still raining. I suspect it will be wrong again tomorrow.

If it was cold enough for snow you can bet the low pressure would pass through very quickly without hanging around!

Either that or it would end up too close and end up dragging up mild air with it.
