Cracking day here on dartmoor. Started off with a castor sugar coating of snow first thing.  Then came a couple of hours of heavy snow. Sledging with the kids. By lunch the snow started to melt but by 3 another hours worth of heavy snow again covered the place. Now below freezing the place is an ice rink. Snow line today was about 175 metres lucky for us we are at 200 metres. 

Today was courtesy of streamers blowing in from the Irish sea.  For this part of dartmoor that's where we get most reward. Akways a close run thing with dew points but today it worked for us  From the east not so good as we live in the shadow or some very high ground.

Seen a video or two that snow was falling around Truro area and Redruth

Just had some snow falling here just outside st Austell though short lived due to shower losing intensity and main bulk was sightly east 

Looking at NetWeather Rader app it does look like they be more chances of snow fall and possibly of dustings depending on showers though I don't think my area will be getting anymore now

Great news for Cornwall tonight. Stithians has had snow too sister in law lives there. All done for dartmoor for today. Small chance of more snow Saturday evening after that the easterly swings in and things will dry up.

A good day on west dartmoor too wasn't expecting so much to be honest. Started off with a dusting first thing but when feeding horses at my yard on the moors it started very heavy and by the time I finished there was at least an inch. Normally I'm all smug in my truck but this year I don't have a 4x4 was very hairy leaving that yard and onto the next one, by the time I finished feeding/bringing in horses there it had mostly turned to sheet ice and almost didn't make it home again

Now that was a night! My 40th birthday, walking home slightly worse for wear at 22.00 with it freakishly cold and windy with powdery snow drifting against the kerbs.

Dropped to -2.2°C, then went back up to -1.8°C and stopped there for a while before dropping back to -2.2°C

Encouraging for tomorrow, I had a look at the radar and was hoping maybe some flurries may pass through tomorrow. Can’t get the files atm. But the aperge shows some coming this way

I don't know really but I wouldn't be shocked if some rural areas got down to almost negative double digits tonight!
