Slight dusting in Andover and occasional very wet snow falling lightly alternating with rain.

This alone equals the winter of 2019 where I saw snow falling for 10 minutes in early 2020.

Stopped in Stroud now, was nice to see, but I’m relatively low down where I am and it only settled on the snow from last night. The hilltops must be covered.... looks like a potentially interesting week around here even from tonight, but looks a bit ‘messy’ so I reckon the radar will checked frequently!

Nowt yet in Swindon. We’re kinda stuck under the centre of the low right now.

Yup, looking back at the radar, the initial front split right over us and then disintegrated as it pivoted. Now it's going around us!

Just been out and it was trying to sleet but nothing of note here.

Onto the next opportunity! Congrats to those in the region who got some today!

Also if you want to see something interesting, go on Google maps and turn in the traffic reports to see the road situation near Bewdley and Kidderminster - complete carnage at the moment.

The western flank of the Hampshire circulation could be an area of particular interest this afternoon, though I'm not sure it will be quite cold enough for low levels to see more than a wintry mix. We'll see. Based on model projections, it should advance to the southwest at least a little way.

Today really feels like a strong case of '30 years ago, it would have been all snow'. Conditions really are right on the margin!

It is edging back this way. Just running up to and along the A36 at the moment.

We're back to a fine drizzle now.

Radar intensity looks decent - not sure how trustworthy it is though. Earlier it had me under 28 mm per hour for a time, not convinced it was ever that heavy!

Wet snow was falling here, about 20 mins ago (BS34). Cant stand this cold, damp weather. If it's going to snow and stay cold give me the proper stuff. Temps at freezing or below, a biting Easterly and powder snow that turns crunchy on the ground as the freeze sets in.

Dew point has just gone up to 1°C temp 0.8°C

That isn't actually possible. Dew point cannot exceed temperature as the air is saturated when the two are the same.

Same over here in basingstoke.  Was coming down really heavy earlier but the slushy covering it left has since vanished.  Intermittent light rain now.

That was what the weather station was saying.

Dp only reports to a whole number so was probably 0.6 or something.

Chance of some more tomorrow, hopefully heavier bursts if we're lucky. Nowcasting as always so I'm gonna be glued to that radar again.

Is Wednesday looking good for us in terms of snow?

Precipitation intensity seems to be generally above what ARPEGE had for this time. Much more up-flow especially.

Battle taking place between western around-low motion and eastern motion of the low itself.

Seems the New Forest may do well out of this, especially in the higher reaches.
