@lassie23 My thoughts and prayers are with you too, lassie

I noticed Icon is showing snow for our whole region next Thursday.

Thanks DVR, snow would be most welcome whenever it turns up, as long as it is soon.

It almost feels like we have a force field around the SE/EA deflecting any snow away further north and west. When we actually had some showers yesterday it dragged in some milder uppers and dews. Bad luck so far. Hopefully it changes next week once the wind turns easterly.

So while the north east gets a nice unexpected snowfall this morning, it’s 4c and grey here. MO forecast is now showing heavy rain all day Monday. That’ll be cheery on the first day back at work after Christmas

The dp should drop now the occluded front has cleared but I don't know how quickly.

That band across Wales and the Midlands wasn’t forecast was it? Seems to be a surprise for members in that area. It’s moving our way but I’m not convinced it’ll stay intact. We’ve had really bad luck so far.

Will be pushed South before it get's to our Region Most Likely although it's a big system.

That area definitely wasn’t forecast moving towards SE.

Yes that’s what I thought. The trough over the NE was forecast but I don’t think most people in Wales and the Midlands expected to have snow this morning from that line of precipitation moving SE.

A mid-Kent Streamer a distinct possibility 850's between -6c and -7c.

Would be surprised if the highest part of the  North Downs in East Kent, didn't see a little settling Snow.

Regards,

Tom.

Think it may be a case of the wait continues for us in the SE/EA to join those further north and west.

Latest BBC still not going for snow early next week, Chris Fawkes actually mentioned heavy rain for Kent on Monday.
Hopefully later in the week we will finally see some of the white stuff.

Most likely only catch the top of it, it'll dip South a bit I Believe

There’s snow moving SE through Wales and the Midlands at the moment and snow showers moving SW from the North Sea into northern England. Are we in the SE going to be unlucky again and miss out? That band moving SE through the Midlands and Wales is coming towards us but I get a feeling it’ll fizzle out before it gets here.

Sleet/snow not far to the west looking at 06z EC:

Monday night still flagging up from some models for snow across the SE, 06z EC suggests N/W Kent, southern London suburbs, north end of Sussex , Surrey and Hants  - presumably on a streamer from ENE flow. Dew points are modeled to drop close to or below 0C later Monday onwards.

I don't believe a word the BBC has to say tbh. Earlier in the week they still had that system of snow for Thursday over the SE and EA when all the models had clearly sent it into the chanel and northern France. Plus more often than not during cold spells the BBC temps are always far too high.

Not saying we will all snow see next week, but I feel we've got a much better chance than the BBC are currently forecasting.

Just heard from a friend up in Pontefract, Yorkshire and there’s a proper blizzard going on there, she said that there’s already an inch on the ground. Lucky!

I hope so - 4.3c with a DP of 3.0c here at the moment, no sign of it dropping yet.

Went for a very brisk walk along the seafront this morning, that certainly woke us up!

Lol probs not the worst thing in the world with current DEW temps and uppers would fall as more of a wintry mix meaning the ground would be even more wet thus potentially thwarting chances of any snow settling next week.
