It almost feels like we have a force field around the SE/EA deflecting any snow away further north and west. When we actually had some showers yesterday it dragged in some milder uppers and dews. Bad luck so far. Hopefully it changes next week once the wind turns easterly.

I have rewritten this bit several times as I don't want to make a sad situation worse, but I hope my experience may help you in some way.

My Mum died several years ago now and at the time I pretty much lost interest in everything including the weather. But everyday it does get a bit easier. Everyone deals with grief in there own way so whatever you are feeling is perfectly normal. You may get people trying to encourage you to go out and do this that and the other, not really possible at the moment in any case, but I would say only do things when you feel ready.

My main bit of advice would be to find one person you are comfortable talking to and tell them how you are feeling and be honest. Also, in hind sight I should have kept going with a hobby, such as the weather, as a bit of a distraction.

So hang in there things will improve slowly.

As for the weather. It’s all still a bit meh from where I’m looking. Up a hill and you are probably nailed on for some snow next week. Lower down and on the coasts, it’s all a bit of a lottery really. Nothing new for our part of the world. Need to get those uppers and dews a bit lower for more confidence in seeing the white stuff.

Wednesday morning, according to 06z GFS, dew points are below 0C and T850s -7C to -8C, cold enough I should think for snow from any streamer

Thank you all so much, my family and myself really appreciate your support and reassuring words. I will try to keep my interests going and hopefully they will keep me occupied, some of you have lost so much in your lives and you show tremendous courage on the road to recovery.  What we all need is a snowfest distraction because 2020 has been a year of great loss for many.

Yes that’s what I thought. The trough over the NE was forecast but I don’t think most people in Wales and the Midlands expected to have snow this morning from that line of precipitation moving SE.

A mid-Kent Streamer a distinct possibility 850's between -6c and -7c.

Would be surprised if the highest part of the  North Downs in East Kent, didn't see a little settling Snow.

That area coming southeast looks like it's expanding a bit. If it does make it here I wonder if we can at least get some sleet from it. There is me wishing away but it will probable squeeze out suddenly now and shrink.

DP on its way down nearly dropped a degree in the last hour to 1.4c

Temo dropping also 3.4c after a high of 3.9c

Humidity also falling now..

Think it may be a case of the wait continues for us in the SE/EA to join those further north and west. 

Latest BBC still not going for snow early next week, Chris Fawkes actually mentioned heavy rain for Kent on Monday. 
Hopefully later in the week we will finally see some of the white stuff.

Sleet/snow not far to the west looking at 06z EC:

Monday night still flagging up from some models for snow across the SE, 06z EC suggests N/W Kent, southern London suburbs, north end of Sussex , Surrey and Hants  - presumably on a streamer from ENE flow. Dew points are modeled to drop close to or below 0C later Monday onwards.

I don't believe a word the BBC has to say tbh. Earlier in the week they still had that system of snow for Thursday over the SE and EA when all the models had clearly sent it into the chanel and northern France. Plus more often than not during cold spells the BBC temps are always far too high.

Not saying we will all snow see next week, but I feel we've got a much better chance than the BBC are currently forecasting.

My temps have slowly risen from low 3s overnignt until about 1145 where it stalled out at 4.5c

I hope so - 4.3c with a DP of 3.0c here at the moment, no sign of it dropping yet.

Can anybody confirm that that Precipitation Band will get here at around 5pm-7pm because I have the 2nd Highest Snow Chance Of Winter So Far(11%) at around that Time also Notice the Sleet Shower coming towards us.
