The band that over the North now, moving slowly south, it's a warm front, but by the time it reaches us, it's occluded. Don't know if it'll even have any ppn left though.

We might get some snizzle from it

Today was the first day it really felt properly cold. I’m guessing we hit maybe 2 or 3 max here.

Still nothing too exciting happening, it appears, for our region for at least another week, so the frustration continues. I don’t buy the theory that “we’re bound to hit the jackpot eventually”. Even the classic cold spells that I can remember, Jan 87, Feb 91, Jan 10 didn’t last for weeks and weeks and, though I’ve no technical basis for this, I have a nagging feeling that the Atlantic will eventually get its’ act together, so the clock is ticking as far as I’m concerned.

Some sunshine at times today, but a lot of low level cloud and most. Third air frost in a row tonight with temperatures around -2c at the moment.

Anyway I wish everyone a happy new year, especially now that I have finished work and now chilling with something alcoholic....

Just about managed an ice day. It toyed with me for a while being stuck at exactly 0 for 3 hours but finally started dropping again and now down to -0.5.

Happy New Year everyone. May it be filled with snow☃️❄️?️

I rarely post because I have no experience on how to interpret the charts. You guys are very knowledgeable and I always check out your assessments in the summer and winter.   Good job guys and I wish you a good new year!

well don't worry too much about models in this thread, just enjoy the banter. which is a lot more light hearted than the actual model thread. feel free to post your thoughts and opinions here, no one will shoot you down in flames. happy new year to you too.

Talking of fire works, I keep seeing flashes to my south, but not hearing the bangs to go with them, I think the slight fog/low cloud may be, is helping light travel.

Nope, my hearings normally ok. However it might have been the TV covering it, it was far off.
