Well here (10 miles in from the coast in E Sx) I’m looking forward to lamp post watching tomorrow night in the “hunt for sleet” competition.

Oh sounds fun, who can get the most sleet

Just my opinion but I will only trust that ecm run if the gfs follows in the next couple of runs, to me that’s shifted it to far south but just my opinion

Seems like some of the guys in the model thread get overly excited when they see a good chart at day 10 then overly disappointed when it doesn’t verify. I think calmness is in order..

We are still in a good position here, we need to all look for what we want to see each run but not throw toys if we don’t on one run.

Quoting myself here, apologies, but this app has been showing this for tomorrow and Thursday for the last five days. Not interested. Hopefully wrong but still interested to know what drives the ‘predictions’ (yes, I know they change like the wind, yes I know they’re no substitute for high-res short term models and yes, I know it’s not the best way to try and forecast the weather). But, if the ECM + everything vs Harmonie and a scrap of GFS is correct on this for tomorrow/Thurs, then not without note.

Ooh, hang on! Sorry, will stop now. Annoying. But a glimmer...

It’s said this all Day, since 5 this morning

Dont put to much faith in an iPhone weather app. My elder aunt has been more reliable than that app.

No, I really don’t. I’m sure you can read my cynicism in the posts. Obviously they’re responding to the fluctuating outcomes presented by the models, not leading the way... But even so, I’m still curious to know what they’re responding to.

I'm not entirely sure where it's coming from but the map on MO's site actually shows more interest on Friday morning as opposed to Thurs...many hours of light snow through the small hours, with temperatures widely sub zero! I've heard that they use some extended form of UKV for this but again I'm not entirely sure.

I’m still feeling optimistic for central/eastern Kent on this run. The north downs (lenham heath/Challock. I’m currently planning on chasing this through the north downs around the areas above collecting snow depths. Obviously depending on the next set of runs. Will be uploading pics on here tomorrow night as I go..❄️❄️?

My phone app looks alright . These things change quicker than a Day 10 chart

wish people would stop using apps for snow forecasts, better to use an actual realtime weather radar or just look out the window

Did you ever manage to find your white stilettos, in the Snow?
