Absolutely. If there’s not an E’ly element to the wind I’m not really interested. Frontal stuff as you say rarely delivers here. Give me a strong E/ENE with -10 uppers all day. I’m sure our time will come. Feel a lot more positive this winter what with the background signals. We’ve just got to be patient and wait our turn.

Hope you're right because as usual, anything of that nature is out in fi

Well compared to what some of you are saying, it was definitely windy here last night. this tree feel in the early hours of the morning, just missing my shiny car and house!

Just watched the latest BBC weather TV forecast.
After a possible sleet/snow mix tomorrow, snow mainly over the chilterns the forecaster said “The rest of 2020 looks cold and dry”

I’ll take that over the relentless rain here over past couple months. We are in need of a good few weeks drying out in my area.

Not looking great snow wise for us in EA and the SE this week. Although I still wouldn't rule out a few surprises popping up at short notice, just not overly confident. One thing I am hoping though is that we don't see any cold rain, just give me the frost and freezing fog if we can't have the snow.

Anything from the NW never really does it for us down here. For me there's nothing better than a beast from the east, with uppers of -8 and lower, and seeing those snow showers piling into EA and the SE. Hopefully we can see a beast appear in the new year, none of this marginal stuff currently on offer!

Don't we all need a dry spell, especially after last night. Things were wet enough already.

All pretty rare to catch snowfall in our region with the current set up from tonight onwards. Everything remotely possible is coming from the North/ North West. Historically it undelivered, unless some active embedded fronts cross from West to East

Fingers crossed lots of ❄️❄️Into Jan/Feb

GEM broadly similar to the 12z GFS, if a little messy..

GEM.thumb.png.8309f84f966012b80d7c910f5b4c9cd3.png

HUGE upgrade on the GEFS mean too, cannot wait to see the entire ensemble suite, I suspect there will be a few very cold runs in there. 12z plays out pretty much how I'm expecting, albeit on a slightly faster timescale.

Brief relax of the pattern early January (albeit staying blocked in this case) before a resurgence of heights into the 2nd week as the +EAMT event kicks into action. Cold > getting colder > into the freezer.

That's before any potential SSW..
